Personally I am shite scared that young Douglas is doing everything right at the minute to get a call up into the Crows senior side.

However, he is a Crows player and he wouldn't be playing for us unless he was drafted so good luck tot he kid I hope gets a call up soon if that is what he wants!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

1980 Tassie Medalist

So you obviously rate young douglas, the limited mail I have on him is that his ball use, decision making (footy smarts) and composure is first class

All jokes aside about how Centrals are travelling at the minute but for a 3rd gamer up against the reigning premiers with blokes who don't take backwards steps he held his own. He went in and got it when necessary and I can not recall a time when he disposed of it erroneously on the ABC2 highlights I saw of the Dogs v Bays game.

Long way to go yet for the boy but as I said before he is doing everything right at the minute!!!

I have to admit I watched him twice last year in the U/18s against the Bushrangers and the NT team. I was impressed by his work rate and disposal back then. I was very happy when we got him in the SANFL draft.

Mail is that Douglas, Meesen and Maric were all again pretty solid for their respective clubs, whilst Jericho had a strong game across HB for the bloods.

I'm keen to find out more about Chad Gibson, I follow his numbers each week and if you go by stats alone, his numbers are always low.

Interested in knowing more about this kid, does he play forward or back, how do people rate this kid

SYDNEY - DOG

Chad Gibson
19 years old
height 193.
weight 88 kilos.
5 games
kicked 2 sausage rolls.

Solid defender plays key defensive rolls for Norwood.

Needs a season for Norwood and may with natural
improvement be a possibilty for AFL 2007.

The best AFL young prospect at Norwood would be
Gavin Hughes a 20 year old explosive midfielder
who is starring in his first full season at the club.
He is a moral to be drafted.

John Meeson played B grade at Norwood last year.
He is the 2nd ruckman occasional forward and looks
ok at times, has been a regular this year.
Appears to have enough skills to develope into a future
AFL prospect.
His problem is that Ivan Maric is playing exterely well
for Port Adelaide and is closer to AFL selection.

Richard Douglas is a slick skilful midfielder who is in my
opinion destined for higher accolades in the AFL .

Pretty much on the money Mal, a couple of additions and personal thoughts on the AFL boys at Norwood:

Chad Gibson (Crows)
- Played Ressies all last season after making his league debut in 2004, has the size, pace and leap and has generally been impressive this season since returning to the league lineup ... Question mark over his hands for mine, however is still only about 18 or 19 years old

John Meeson (Crows)
- Played ressies last year but also played some league matches, has a good pair of hands and his palm-work is excellent imho, his ground skills are relatively good but appears slower than Maric in most aspects ... Still requires time to add the neccessary bodyweight, but has surpassed Tim Nicholas as the number 1 ruckman at the Parade for now!

Darren Pfeiffer (Crows)
- Is yet to play a game this season I believe suffering from a back complaint (although could be OP, not exactly sure) ... From what I saw of him last season he should have all the ability to be an AFL player

Nick Lower (Power)
- Suffered a broken thumb or hand during the trials after reasonably impressive form .. Is hard at it and should progress nicely once he matures

Matt Thomas (Power)
- I will be staggered if this kid doesn't make it as more than just a handy AFL type .. Has courage, isn't slow, likes the tough stuff and his hand appear pretty good ... Early reports indicated that his footskills required work but I haven't seen anything too untoward in this department thus far

Hugh Minson (Power)
- Think Port selected this kid as a potential "Diamond In The Rough" and I reckon they have every chance of finding it ... Still only 16 or 17 this kid has become a regular reserves player already this year and has excellent speed and poise for his height ... Will need to add weight to his frame but unquestionably has talent!
