Great to see Byron back to his best. Brilliant today.

Did Dean Laidley have a brain explosion in the last five minutes?

Or was Nathan Thompson injured?

Speaking of brain explosions, I just flipped over to catch a couple seconds of the Sydney v Geelong game and no 30 for Sydney just shephered a goal through for Geelong by Ablett, I don't know wtf he was thinking.

lol, I'd prefer the Raiders did well in Brisbane, AFL is so yawn this year, I can't even handle watching my own side for an entire half let alone other teams for an entire game. BORING and CRAP football IMHO.
God bless the SANFL.

Bugger, just found out the Raiders lost 30-28.
Ahh well, I have more time for my Leeds Rhinos anyway. ;)

Got to admit I haven't watched since 1/4 time - I find the AFL doesn't capture my attention too much these days. I even missed most of the Roos/Demons match and Crows/Dogs in favour of watching the ABC SANFL game because I can identify with the game style, the oval, the names etc. Despite it being one sided and not being a follower of either side I still enjoyed it.

I find myself in exactly the same position drebin, I can't even sit down and watch close AFL games.
I'd rather go watch Port Noarlunga v Noarlunga C grade.

Just had a quick peek and a crucial stage of the game a Cats player and a Swans player both contest the ball on the ground, the Swans player falls to the ground holding his head and gets the free and 50m.
Oh so common in the AFL these days, I see better contests in Under 10s netball.

Thompson was having a blinder.

Then, with five minutes to go, he comes off the ground.

Laidley said during the press conference that he brought himself off because he was buggered.

Twice in the last couple of minutes, the ball went up to the Kangaroos goalsquare.

But there was nobody there to take a grab or make a strong contest.

Thompson was great but his decision to take himself off was soft
you need to push thru, their was 4 minutes to go and no one else up there to give a contest

He should have pushed hard till he chucked, all he needed to do was make a constest and bring the ball to ground, but oh well.....

after Thompson came off, in the last four minutes there was couple entries in to the forward 50m, long to the top of square and there was no contest, because Thompson took himself off.

Very Soft....

Thompson went off after chasing a Melbourne player down the wing where he stopped in front
of the interchange area. A few minutes later, North's Harris had the ball on the 50 metre arc
and instead of bombing to the square, where Thompson SHOULD have been, he chipped
sideways to Wells but this was cut off by a Melbourne player.
I was at the game and said to myself immediately "Where the hell is Thompson?".
