Essendon Season 2009

Postby hearts on fire » Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:46 pm

All talk on the Bombers is here!

The Bombers will make a slight improve on last season, but i can't see them jumping into the eight just yet.

My Opinion: Essendon will finish in the middle of the bottom eight, between 10 and 14th on the ladder.

I believe that the word rebuilding needs to be used. I think we will improve on last year and finish 10th. The few major things we need to work on are defence (got to stop letting so many goals get kicked against us), Promoting more youth (working progress I know) and some how trying to get all our players fit (unbelieveable the amount of injurys we got last year and already have this season).
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

After observing first-hand yesterday's loss to the PAP smears, I think that nothing has changed as far as my expectations for this season go. I expect that we will occasionally beat teams that we're not supposed to (hopefully starting with Carlton Easter Saturday), but we're certainly a work in progress at this stage. Positives from yesterday were young Hurley's game on Tredders, McPhee's run and Skipworth's excellent first game in a Bombers guernsey. Negatives were sitting in the sun the whole game #:-s , the Power "supporters" behind me (I seem to find 'em, no matter if it's a Crows or Power game!), and our forward line as a whole. And we got smashed out of the middle. I haven't seen the stats, but I'm guessing they wouldn't be pretty. Meanwhile, does Jobe-Wan-Kenobi have any awareness of what's around him at all? Good shepherd by Westhoff. All credit to Port though, they look set for a good year, and good luck to them.

i reckon we could just sneak in but we cant afford to drop the games we should win. i just hope that they improve there is nothing worse than watching them and they dont even look like they are trying like in last few years.

The Bombers are back on track and are looking pretty decent, currently sitting 5th but have the same points as third placed Carlton.

Who knows, they could just sneak into the eight.

Didn't make that much difference out there last night

There's a group on Facebook called "Damir Dokic should replace Ron Knights" ... could he do much worse?
But yes, it was a pretty pointless comment wasn't it?!

Knights never said won't play VFL gave him the option. He played VFL and by all accounts played very well. Bendigo got thrashed but Scotty kicked 4.4 took 9 marks and they said there was often 3 people marking against him. Prismall also played in the VFL got 12 touches in the half a game he played. Things are looking up!!!

Heading to Melbourne this weekend to watch the Bombers.
Will be keen to see how they rebound after last week's shocker.

All Essendon supporters would have to be happy where the Bombers are at this stage of the year, their ability to take on the opposition week after week with run & carry is giving their youngsters much needed confidence & with that comes form.
Alot of people had the Bombers finishing in the bottom 4 early in the year aswell as not rating Matty Knights as a coach. I'm
glad Matty's shoving it right up your ar$es & it proves he has the respect of all players.

LOL@merc! Yep I'll admit I didn't think the Bombers were much chop and full credit must go to Matty Knights. He ran rings around Ratten in the coaches box tonight.
