Looks like Lethal has finally had enough of Akermanis' big mouth and crap form.
He has been dropped from the side playing Hawthorn on Saturday night at Carrara due to his "lack of form and his inability to meet team disciplines, standard and expectations".
Could Aker be playing in new colours next year??

doubt it, who would have him? No club would pick him up based on ability alone

True.
You could argue that his playing assets would be outweighed by his cocky, crap-talking liabilties

A heck of alot of bullshit comes with Aker. Good player but is that really enough. I would think Brisbane would be keen to drop him at the end of the year, either that or put him on a performace based contact. But probably trade him as a fresh start is probably what he needs to get his head back out of his arse.

If he leaves at the end of the year - I would think he would find a home for a lot less $$$ and im sure there would be a few stipulations attached.
Like shut ya trap !!!!!!!!
He did win Brisbanes best and fairest last year

Aker dropped for 'failing standards'
BRISBANE Lions midfield player Jason Akermanis has been dropped from the team to play Hawthorn in the AFL on the Gold Coast on Saturday night.
Akermanis was for "lack of form and his inability to meet team disciplines, standard and expectations", Lions captain Michael Voss said.
The match committee and leadership group made the decision following Akermanis's comments in the media this week, Voss said.
"Aker is still of value ... at the Brisbane Lions and an important member of our team, but (he) has failed recently to meet team guidelines on and off the field," he said.

Was was able to talk things up when he was a dominate player and Brisbane were winning all the flags. Now the Lions are rebuilding and Akkers body is not the same anymore it puts alot more attention and pressure on the place. if you read his book he said Matthews didn't speak to him in the lead up to the 2003 Grand Final as he started the story about himself going to the Swans to bump his $$ up.
I would think hes on his last legs at the Lions and if you could control him he would be a good pickup for a club on the verge of a flag who needs an experienced player.

Well as Blue boy said. Perhaps some stipulations attached to his contract like:
Shut ya trap.
Which if you could make him keep his mouth closed then he could be of value.

I would say a club like Essendon, Richmond and Kangaroos or perhaps Western Bulldogs would be interested in him. Whether they have the room to move within the cap to get him there remains to be seen.
You would say that he has 2 - 3 more years left in him, and is best football is beyond brilliant, but is the risk worth it all?

im not sure that clubs on the verge of a flag would pick him up as they risk him coming in to a proven structure and distablising the environment, I would think a bottom team with nothing to lose might take a punt

They'll be no shortage of takers for Aker, a great player who - like Paul Williams - might just need a change of scenery to spark his game.
But yes, his yap was always going to come back and bite him on the @rse in his advancing years - the mind is willing but the body 'aint and he can't quite match it with the young guns (as Chris Judd emphatically proved the other week).
Started off as an opportunist forward - don't see why he couldn't prolong his career by a few seasons in a similar role.

Aker is an outstanding 'outside' finisher who would be an asset to any club that can feed the ball out to him. I think the Swans will have one eye on what's happening up north for a start. I reckon the Lions have dropped the ball on this one a bit....I think this is a very winnable game for Brisbane but they might have missed an opportunity by leaving out Aker and Leppa in a match where Croad and Crawford are unavailable for the Hawks.
Hawks but only just I feel. The right decision by the Lions but the timing is off in my view.

REB

My memories of his finals efforts - particlar last quarter efforts in a couple of GFs - mean that he is one of those palyers who can make the difference between winning and losing. I thimk this outweighs the bullshit factor.
