1-2 million $$$$ short for this financial year, won't make it to end of season without additional cash.

Thats bad, as much as I dont like Carlton, you never want to see a 140 year old club die.

Will never happen,as some one stated in another thread, the AFL is committed to having 8 games each week in the new TV rights deal.

Fortunately for the 'Ol Navy Blues, the AFL has buckets loads of cash and will be able to afford to continually prop up any club in financial difficulty.

I'm sure there are a number of battling clubs - North Melbourne immediately springs to mind - rejoicing in Carlton's on and off-field woes at the moment.

Perhaps the Kangaroos can find a backer to buy out the Blues, take their star players and dedicate a corner in the social club to their history.

Hang on, that can't happen - Carlton don't have any star players...

Serves them right!

Didn't they move because the social club was hurting them?

Isn't it ironic that when the Blues were a power they owned a big share of North Melbourne!

I think building that stand at Optus Oval killed them.

It was his mis-management, arrogance and own financial problems that have caused all this!

After Ian Collins saw how bad it was when his "ticket' took over and no likely fast turnaround cure he quickly jumped ship!

agreed drebin, if Elliot didn't cheat the salary cap all those years ago, there would be no financial penalty as well as the draft penalty, their finacial sate would be better and the quality of their squad would be too.

There is too many Melbourne based teams.... Need another in Brisbane and Sydney..? Maybe too soon for this to happen.....

The AwFuL has too much cash to let them die and really has an obligation to them as a partner of the competition..?
