McCartney said during half time when Port came out they lacked leadership and only Brad Symes was talking positives when the side ran out...

3rd Quater, Brisbane kicked 9 goals, maybe Jason was not far from the mark with his comments

Week in week out you hear the same chorus come from the Power football club, they ust the club's proud history and tradition line, well if this is the case why do they play like a team with no history or proud tradition.........

The team lacks leadership and they do not work for each other, it has only been 30 games since the clubs premiership....

Supporters, yes the loss of key on ballers has had an impact on the clubs performance.......

But where is the passion, the pride, the desire to the willingness to do the team things, the 1%, you don't need eaqrly draft picks to do this, you only need the right attitude.......

I have friends who are closely associated with this club and they do not hide their disapointment in the way this team now trains in comparison to the way they use to train prior to their success, and in their opinion this is evident on match day, no talking, no leadership, poor body language, poor performances........

You can talk up your proud tradition but it means nothing unless you play to honor this tradition and you don't need high draft picks to demostrate this.......

I dont think its all doom and gloom for the Power. Some positives you can take from the match are the performances of Symes and Salopek. Both boys played well. And might well be the next set of onballers that the Power need. Although im not saying there ready yet, they still have plenty of development ahead of them. Also Treadrea looks like he is starting to get some form and fitness back.

choco might want to give them a history lesson this week, to remind the players about the traditions of the club because today's performance is disgraceful

Stan

Agree in regards to Symes, I also thought that Ebert stood up today but in regards to Tredders, he was very very ordinary today, obviously he is not fit and is far from being fit......

If the club is putting pressure on him to play well it's not doing the team any service, if Tredders is making the cxall he is doing himself or the team any service.

Brisbane have introduced 18 players in the past 12 months and port are going through the same transition but in saying that, their desire, work ethic, leadership and attitude is very very poor

Problem is with the experienced players - quite obvious that they're going through the motions at the moment.

No intensity, no desperation, no commitment and given the number of times Port players spoil themselves, there's no communication either.

Brendon Lade is one veteran who can hold his head high - thought he battled hard again today until he just had nothing left in the tank.

Symes, Salopek and Ebert played well.

Even thought big Fab even showed some signs.

At least Surjan and Ezard chased and showed some desperation.

WTF was Pearce left to rot in the forward pocket? FFS, put him on the wing!

PP V BL

Thay are both struggling these days but at least
they are both playing a nice brand of footy.
The kids will learn the skills quicker with this style.
Both were great clubs with great coaches and its great
to see williams and matthews playing enterprising footy
instead of that garbage possesion game.
Teach the skills then play with more accountability later on.

Sides like RI-CA-KA-HW who play that dour accountable
style WILL NEVER progress to a premiership.
They have some short term success at times.
Those clubs are above BL/PP on the ladder but big deal.

Remember Williams and MATTHEWS obtained thier posts
when PP+BL were down and then won flag and flags.
They will get thrashed a few times before the process pays off.

They both deserve time and patience to do it again.

Mal, Mal, Mal

Powder playing a nice brand and enterprise footy
Mate, even the die hard port supporter would disagree with this
I don't think people are questioning skill level, the questions that are being asked is in regards to their work when they don't have the ball...
Footy is two ways, to be considered a good side you need a strong defensive action, tackling, chasing, harrassing, 1%, talking, positive body language, leadership, this is where the club is being let down.......

I'll keep saying it until I go blue in the face, draft picks will bring you talent, but desire, any player can chase, tackle, talk, this is wher the club is letting itself down

KEEP SAYING IT THEN!!!!!!!!!!!

i hate the power but you have to face it, MAL isnt far off with his assessment there with both Matthews and Choco taking over there respective clubs when they were easy-beats and built them into machines that dominated 4 years of footy. of course lists get older and there is a need to re-build. some clubs are lucky enough to get lucky in draft and trades and not have to suffer major lows before rising up again.

Both those teams will be back in force in the next year or soo

guys if your relying of draft picks to be successful then give up
maybe the crows should wait and finish bottom four before w3e start building a team capable of winning a flag
Johncock, Mattner, Rutten, Knights, Vince, Maric, Bock and the list goes on, how many of these blokes were top 10 picks, none

So focus on what you can control and do it beter thenm any other club, effort, desire, 1%, from this you can build a winning environment

But no, lets look for the easy options, early draft picks, this will bring you talent, but wont deliver a flag.........

I recognise port have lost good on ballers, but shit have a crack, show some heart, they are playing soft footy..........

You don't have to be a top 10 pick to run, chase, tackle, to show some emotion, this is when the club is being let down.......

I get tired of people using draft picks as an excuse and see how many top 20 picks they have had, some where coaching and developing players and a team has to kick in and developing elite training methods, this is what will win you flags

Shit if the swans can do it, anyone can

SYDNEY DOG

PP was a very skillful but soft side at the start of the millenuim.
PP were minor premiers a few times playing NICE football but did not convert.
PP developed a style that was softish but the players became very
skillfull as a result.
They had a sound nucleas before taking that final step in 2004.

You need to educate first then covert ... same as now

my observations are it is not the youth on the list letting the club down at present, it is the players that have already been educated and are satisfied with the premiership medal they have hanging around their necks

SD

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS about PP.
We agree on something get rid of the oldies and
rebuild and harness the skills of the younger brigade.

AC has done a remarkable job without draft picks
and can be proud of of thier achievements BUT they
need to convert very very soon before that magnificent
core of on ballers age and slow down.

SD you run the risk at demeaning PP at the moment as
there is a big possiblity that AC will decline and be where
PP are right now in about 2 years time.
