Torney - Welsh

Talk on the national game

Torney - Welsh

Postby Blue Boy » Mon May 22, 2006 4:18 pm

With Torney and Welsh playing for there SANFL sides last week and playing well - I would rush them back in to the Crows side.

Torney for Hart

Welsh is a bit more complicated. Welsh to play Full Forward / Foward Pocket - Hentshcel to push up to CHF - Mcgregor back to CHB - Stevens to the Port Magpies.
It is what it is !!!

Well with hart out Torney will need to come in, but i think Welsh might need a bit more time in the SANFL to get some match fitness.

I agree, obviously Torney will replace Hart, I agree with Welsh coming straight in but my concern is that he plays his best footy up forward when there is a strong body around to do the bully work and then he can utilise his quick leads........

Roo, Burton and Welsh are not that Tall and if we bomb the ball forward like last week we may struggle up forward.....

I agree, Steven's is not up to the standard, so the obvious option is to push McGregor Back and Welsh forward.......

Clarke is the other player we need to look at, it is time to promote Maric, Last week Clarke and Biglands had about 8 touches between them, Symonds for the tigers had more touches in the first 1/4 alone.

I accept they are both good tap ruckman but we need a lot more around the ground, let's blood Maric or Meesen now, when they have the support of a strong on ball division, let's give em some game time before finals.

The ruckman issue is a good one. 8 touches between them is not good enough.

I rate Maric very highly and he has to play now whilst we can give him time to settle in. We have done it with our smaller players like Reilly - Doughty - Mattner and so on. This has worked thus far.

If we could I would possibly play all 3. I still reckon that Rhett can play key position every now and then.

Ble Boy

That nmay be the balance that is required until Perrie comes back....

Biglands to CHF, just to compete, throw his body around and to take a big defender, the space he creates will allow Welsh, Roo and Birdman plenty of room to lead in too

This would also give Maric an opprtunity to get some game time in the ruck......

I would alos love to see Macca or Joncock across HF, they would cause some opposition teams some head ache's

Those 2 boys have been excellent down back though - possibly magics best game for a year and the stiff man has had one best on ground already.

Crusty didnt have a good day out last week - probably lacked with out him playin well around the forward 50 - but he also had some mates in that category.
