What a difference a month makes.

Most pleasing aspect was that players are again doing the one-percenters - harrassing, tackling, sheperding, applying pressure.

Also, lots of run, run, run!

On the other hand, the Hawthorn were a rabble. Puzzles me how Campbell Brown and Tim Clarke play so much league footy.

Looking forward to playing West Coast next week. Wouldn't have said that a month ago but it will be interesting to see where we really stand.

West Coast just had a tough game against Carlton in the West - go figure

Might give the Power some more hope !!!

I would say Port will still struggle in a few more games this year. I dont think they will make the finals this year. But there are plenty of positives to come out of the last month or so for the Power. Pearce, Symes, Salopke, Ebert, Chaplan and Surjan seem to be finding there feet a bit more. It might be the fact that they have played some of the lesser sides in the comp, even so the younger players are playing well. And note Port were picked to finish in the bottom four by alot of people. But after this month they are probably a fair bit in front of clubs such as Carlton, Essendon and to surpirse many Hawthorne as well (surpise as most have expected them to come good soon). Anyway Plenty for Port to work with.

Great post as long as sides like BL-OO-ES keep playing that positive
footy then they will fast track the inevitable reurgance of these clubs.
The KA-HW-styles are draconian and the players learn very very little.

PP have recovered, well done Chocko and the lads.
But the real test comes in the second half agaist better opposition
as S-DOG has stated.

actually it's 5 games, against, West Coast, Adelaide, Sydney, Collingwood, Richmond, you would need to win all 5, then 2 on the road

on the road you have Melbourne, Geelong, St Kilda, Fremantle, Western Bullies and the Roos

Our away draw isn't too bad.

If we're good enough, great.

But finals aren't the priority this year.

In the last half of the season we have the following:

Away-Melbourne,Geelong,St.Kilda,Kangaroos,Bulldogs, and Fremantle.
Home-West Coast,Richmond,Sydney,Collingwood, and the Cows.

Of those 11 not too many look winnable.I would think Geelong and the Kangaroos are a possibility,we have and will continue to have the wood over St.Kilda,and that game in Tassie will be another possible win.We owe Freo one,but will be too late by then.
The home games it only looks like Richmond,and as we have seen they can be damaging when in full flight.So,as much as it pains me to say this,probably only 3 or 4 wins left in us this year,unless of course a real resurgence takes place,we may win 5 or 6.This will leave us for mine,at best, 9-13,maybe 10-12 and miss the 8.

It took a whole 15 mins before we were out of the game. As MP said, we were a rabble. No apparent effort, particularly in the first half....

Kudos to the Port fans near us though. Didnt cop any major grief (I think they all felt sorry for us). Didnt even bite on the "You're playing for the wrong team d$%khead" line to Brogan midway through the 2nd quarter.

Bet I wont have the same 'joy' from Cows fans when we get belted in a few weeks...

PS Centrals fans- does Clarko actually make any moves before the game is out of reach? I havent seen it too much since he has been at the hawkers!

Just wish more of them were against teams below us on the ladder...

As Stan has touched on to some degree, good that Port has recovered but the only downside to it is that the last three wins have come against sides that will probably finish 14th, 15th and 16th on the ladder. Hope they can keep it going and that Brogan and Lade both play every game until the end of the year.
