Wonder what sort of salary mummbles requested? A large sum would have been offered as with out a doubt he has drilled the Cows to a level the likes of which has not been seen.Problem with finding a magic recipe is the rest of the world chases it down and takes a copy before you know what hit you.Strike now Cows, the rest of the world is but 1 pre-season behind.

Craigy once sledge me beautifully when I was a budding young physiologist, he gave me a pile of data on fitness for footy when he was coaching Norwood and I was at Glenelg, I quizzed on why he was giving it to me and he said, "Anyone can get data, a real scientist knows how to interpret it and use it to make changes"....

In other word he was saying go and have it son at the end of they day I'll get more out of than you will so my club will be ahead of yours"

Craigy and the Adelaide Footy club have all this data and information from GPS units, decision making boards, player fatigue data. the other clubs can get that data next season but they won't know what it means or how to use it as well as Neil....

Adelaide will always be ahead of the pack when it comes to using that technology as they have NP Craig interpretting it and using it correctly.....

As an ex-sport scientist the man is a king, not too many people in the world know more about the preparation of athletes than him.

There is another bloke in Adelaide who is very good, he worked at the Power part time in 99 and 2000, but they ditched him 2001 for Russell, they asked to come back last year he said thanks but no thanks. He and Craigy have worked closely together for the past 20 years on conditioning for footy. He is the next best conditioner of footballers in Australia.

How good is Neil Craig...? It has to be measured in premierships, doesn't it..? I put my hand up. I didn't think he could coach..! Dog_ger was wrong again...!

The measure of Craigys greatness will be a successful
finals campaign after the straight sets dismissal in 2005.
His minor round expertise is phenominal.

last years finals hicup was not suprising considering the status of the list the year before, the club took a lot of big steps last year but under finals pressure at times wwe went back in to some bad footy habits which cost us

the team will be a lot better prepared this year, their game is no more in development phase, they are well drilled and know exactly what to do under different circumstances....

it will take a fantastic footy side to beat them

1980TM,yes,its not just a matter of having this data but knowing how to use it,now, without down playing the high level of Craigs understanding of preparation (stemming from his playing days),there is with out a doubt more than just one man in the world who can achieve such a level.Without a doubt.Perhaps my statement of "1 pre-season" is a little short, but as I said, find a magic recipe and it wont be long before others find the right ingredient too.I also believe most clubs would have been looking at Adelaide this time last year, they were flying then, form wise and physically.
Given the tools and epuipment, and lets face it,footy clubs cant keep too many secrets nowadays with the amount of support staff who move from club to club,or even retired players going elsewhere,Craig's practices and philosiphy (?) will soon be used my more than just the West Lakes brains trust.

It's not just Craigy but those he has assembled around him as well. Charlie Walsh- conditioning, Neil Brooks- swimming rehab, Alan Stewart-junior mentor, Stephen Scwerdt- fitness, etc; etc. AND the most important factor of all- "A CHAMPION TEAM WILL ALWAYS BEAT A TEAM OF CHAMPIONS"

Schwerdt was already at the crows but the key to any success no matter what business is first understanding what structure is required, then identifying the key competencies required in the key roles, then recruiting to that key selection criteria

Craigy needs to take credit for implementing the right structure with the right personnel

I agree with most posts above. I think Craigy will hold the position for the next 10 years and I see several flags to boot. Not only is he the smartest coach around, his people management is second to none. And believe it, people management is the key.

Oh, and the work done by Charlie IS a key ingredient and further evidence of Craigy's people management skills. Its simple, put the right people in the right jobs and let them "do their thing"

I think Neil would be keen for Charlie to do exactly what he is doing for the rest of this decade.

Let him fill the Trophy cabinet before we make him a Ledgend.... Only one team in 16 walks away with the trophy...!
