THE CROWS WIN IT!

Postby Booney » Fri Jul 28, 2006 2:18 pm

Well,it appears as though most punter's out there think this is the case, and many other thread's get hijacked by discussion turning to the dominance the Crows have shown this year.I thought it fitting that we have a thread dedicated to such discussion and leave the rest of the topic's to their own devices.

FWIW,I think only a major upset (ala:Hawthorn over Port in 02 or Sydney in 03) will stop Adelaide from winning this years title. From now until the first week in September is merely a formallity for Adelaide, the two weeks after that are not so.

FWIW (II) I think finishing top and playing 4th in the first week isn't that much of an advantage.4th have nothing to lose, away from home, back's to the wall stuff.

C'mon whoever finishes fourth!

Being short priced favourites for the flag worries me being a Crows supporters....all the sh1t I gave Port people for choking could come back to haunt me if we **** it up this year.

Funny how its all the non-Crows supporting (especially the Port Supporters) who are talking up Adelaide as certainties.

(all I have said is I'm more confident of a flag not certain as the footballing gods don't like over-confidence and as Port supporters know from the years 2001-03 favourites get beaten).

Seems like the scars from 2001-03 are still imprinted quite deeply on their psyche.....

Ah well at least they finally won one final (out of seven) away from home in 2004 unlike their cross town rivals who have won seven (out of 13).

But keep working on deleting the Port from the Port Chokelaide emails that have gone around the world several times, as I'm sure you want to use them on us not uncommon for the little brother to try and copy the big brother.

Immitation is the sincereist form of flattery....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

You have got to be joking mate! Of course the memories of 01-03 are deeply imprinted on us,we had you lot to remind us of it year after year after painful year, and to be so insular to expect the favour not be returned, pfft, kidding yourself.

Don't worry I will expect the supporters of our little brother club to try and replicate the humour and sledges that were around in 01-03. FWIW I thought the emails in 01 were a tad harsh but by 02-03 it was fair game....(once is unfortunate but twice is just plain careless, third time......)

If we do bomb out, it is going to be funny seeing the emails come round again from the point of view that Port supporters are so brainless they couldn't think of anything original (as they attempted to last year).

It has got rather tiresome over the past ten years watching little brother trying to keep up with us, but hey full marks for trying.....

That is true MW. The crows Choked last year, so if it happens this year then its on for young and old. But I dont think that will happen. The crows look very settled.

No show of winning it if we play like we are today, getting samshed around the contests (LBS & HBG).

Kerr BOG, and smashing Goodwin...

Eagles playing out of their skins today.
Champs at home, chumps away. GF not played at Subiaco!

Just another game for the Crows, but Eagles are definitely our bogey side.
There will a lot of knee-jerk talk and stupid articles by Rucci and co about this game.
For all the fuss though, I reckon it should be just an anomaly for the Crows and we'll hit back when it really matters.

early in the week the budgies were clear cut favs to take out the flag and they still do despite losing in perth which most teams do.

as MAL mentioned the Eagles do have an advantage over the crows having come here and beaten them the last two times.

it was hard sorting out who the second pick was given the Eagles had a bit of a low patch which seemed to bring them back to the field, but i think they have clearly stamped themselves as the 2nd pick.

The Jury is still out on Collingwood, it's possible they'll sneak under everyones guard, like 02 & 03?
