19 - more handballs than kicks by West Coast - AFL record.

Also records by Adelaide:
17 - handballs by Scott Thompson, a personal record.
An equal amount of kicks and handballs by Adelaide - 2nd club best and 9th overall.

There were 19 more handballs than kicks by both teams, this is the first match ever in which there more handballs than kicks in the AFL.
387 - handballs, smashes the previous record of 346 by Geelong v Adelaide Round 12 last year. It is also the most I have ever seen in the VFL/AFL and SANFL.
755 - possessions, 8th highest overall.

I don't think the Eagles can play much better then that, and the crows they put in a shocker

The challenge for the eagles is to replicate that footy in Melb...

Personally I would love to play the Eagles at the MCG, Sydney proved last year and the Pies last week that the Eagles can not play the MCG or in Melb

they lost the grand final by a kick, bit small a margin to make a sweeping statement.

I dont think the eagles have anywhere near the traveling problems that they used to.

How painful was it listening to that knob Tim Gossage...I even heard him say at one stage that he did not know Ben Hart was a 300 game player and there was no publicity for it....

i am not just refering to last years GF, over the past two or three seasons the eagles have struggled to win and kick goals at tne MCG, all I am saying is that I would hold no fears playing the Eagles at the MCG and would rather play the Eagles then say Melbourne

I haven't posted on this topic in any great depth because since Saturday I have been preoccupied with the Bays.....

This week we'll find out a bit about the intestinal fortitude of the Adelaide Football Club.

On the weekend we got smashed in the midfield with easily our worst performance of the year, the presure and harrasing by the West Coast cause indicision and as a consequence our delivery into the forward line was very poor. Once we were relying on bobs from 50 m out on the bondary line (Thompsons in the 2nd quarter and to a lesser extenst Roo's jag from the boundary line 35 m out we were in big trouble, if we weren't so already!!!) I lost count of the number of times we were one out against 3 or 4. Blokes just didn't want to work for each other.....

I'd love to know our tackle count and other "1%ers" count as they would have been nothing short of disgraceful compared to West Coasts.

If we bounce back next week and demonstrate that Saturday was an aberation well things aren't too bad.

Maybe that was the one bad one we had to get out of system, maybe we were in the middle of a heavy training phase? Maybe so but you still have to compete and that wasn't evident on Saturday.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

LMAO,when some one else mentioned "Ben Hart, the 300+ gamer",Tim Goosage said with a "pfft" in there,"I dont think so,if he has I have missed a pretty big news story!".Spot on chump,a paid media/football professional didnt know that,Ben Hart, the first Crow to play 300.What made it worse was he kept making reference to it,and questioned the bloke (Wilson?) who said it.

1980 Tassie Medalist

I agree, this week's game will give an insight to how the crows are travelling, footy can produce these shockers but if they produce two or three in a row then we might start to worry....

selection will be very interesting this week, Welsh played well on the w/end, torney will be fit, Bock will come in to calculations and Douglas continues to play well, I rate Douglas a chance, we lacked pace on the weekend and this kid moves well.

Injury concern is over Stiffy, it will be even more interesting if he misses

They are not going to bring in a first gamer this late in the year being on top unless there is a swag of injuries.

Douglas is a hack and needs another six games for the Bays under his belt before he is ready for AFL football....... [-o<

Back to the game, how good was Kerr's effort late in the 2nd quarter when we have kicked two quick ones to get it back below five goals, a couple more before halftime and the game was starting to get back on an even keel......

Up steps Kerr from the Centre square ball up, smothers/intercepts the ball of Edwards, kicks into the fifty, follows up, gets the resultant crumb, draws the defender, handballs to free running forward, goalski, back out to over five goals, stops the Adelaide mini run, game as good as over.....

great footy, great 2nd effort, Class act that boy......

I rate Kerr the second best player in that WCE team behind Judd. I'd really like to put him first and in any other team, probably would be. He's more of a natural footballer than Cousins (IMHO) which is why I like having him there. Cousins' work rate is second to none which I think raises his profile more than his ability would tell.

Played in 1988, including the premiership i think then went back to WA. Not sure exactly how many games he played, pretty sure it was only one season though.

A complete imbecile and a classic case of it's not what you know, it's who you know when it comes to clueless gits like him getting jobs like he has. Had to put up with his crap for 3 years when I lived in Perth and I can assure people here that KG is a rhodes scholar of football compared to this bloke.
