Strange game. Oh well shite happens. Plenty to improve upon for the cows. On the field and in the coaching box. I offended enough cow supporters last night when I said some of Hentschell's efforts early on were piss weak, so I want do a REB rant.

Anyway a closing note: The Crows arnt peaking, collingwood are looking better and the boys from the west are starting to fire. Timings everything.

i went last night, and i must say when the crows dont get their running game happening and its bottled up in close they really do struggle. Last night the number of times collingwood had free players across half forward and the centre was unbelievable and if collingwood had better skills they would have won.

Im not a budgie or colliwobble fan, just an outsider looking in.

Enjoyed the win but what a s**t game of football.

In modern day footy you have blokes playing like Joel Bowden does,and then how Nathan Bassett did on Saturday night,how the hell can these blokes be considered BOG? Standing on your own across half-back kicking it to each other (as Bassett and Rutten did numerous times) can hardly be considered as having an influence on the game.

If Edwards and Goodwin had less of an influence on that game than Bassett Ill go he for chasey! (Love that cliche!)

Chris McDermot says the Crows were lucky. He must have been talking about a game we played against Fitzroy at Footy Park where Rod Jameson kicked a goal after the final siren and got the Crows over the line. I believe Sydney were lucky to beat the West Coast in the Grand Final last year. Hopefully for Sydneys sake they have not enjoyed their grand final win too much and have ironed their problems after that game

Actually despite the "free" marks and posessions Bassett got - I actually do think he was worth the BOG. Many of his marks were under a lot of pressure and his reading of the ball coming in was the difference between a goal and no goal. Simon Goodwin wasn't the best player on the ground - not even top 3. Tyson Edwards didn't do much in the first half apart from 2 goals (which in themselves were invaluable) but came in to his own in the second half.

Edwards and Hentschel kicking two each was umpteen times more valuable than Bassett and Rutten "waxing" each other for kicks/marks.Many of Bassett's marks were well out on his own,8 of which I can clearly remember in two passages of "play" between him and Rutten.As much as I love footy,and love it at the highest level,that was a crap display of football.Sides like Richmond,Collingwood (on Saturday night) and Port (who are driving me friggin insane ATM) need to be shot for displaying such negative tactics.

well thats not football at the highest level is it, get back to the SANFL where all teams attack

I caught the flight to Adelaide to see the Dogs crushed sturt followed by Crows v Pies.

My thoughts, Craigy don't challenge Roo's one match ban, he needs a weeks rest to get his body right.

I am a huge wrap for Craigy but at times he takes too long to make changes, he obviously has huge trust and respect for his players but at times as a coach you need to create a spark, side will come to AAMI to create a slow slog of a game, at times the Pies had 16 players behind the footy....

I went to Adelaide early in the week to watch two crows sessions and their is no doubt they are training extemely hard, on saturday night too many errors which means some players are down in confidence....

Changes
Accept Roo's one week ban and bring him back as a midfielder, Edwards and Goody have carried a big load and are getting heavily tagged, we need the roo firing in the midfield..
Thompson needs to play across HF, at times he is too lazy in the midfield and he needs a kick in the ass for giving away too many soft and sloppy frees week in week out
McGregor needs to go back to CHB, this is were he plays his best footy and he is the ideal match up for Pav this week
Welsh and Perrie need to come back to the Forward line to give as a genuine three prong attack along with Hentchel they are three natural forwards
Hudson needs to replace Clarke before finals, Hudson gives as a strong body and contest at the stoppages......

Just some fine tunning needed

Very good assesment S/DOG.
I reckon they looked flat v CO, that trip to Perth may be the reason.
Last year after going to Perth they lost a home final to St Kilda.

Adelaide is West Coast's bitches, the need to have more midfield options
and rotations is paramount in finals, they are younger faster and fitter.

While I was sitting in the members (with C'wood attire on- after 5 dress, club blazer etc ), & had the most ignorant Crows footy barracker behind me- I'm sure she was yelling in my ear just to annoy me (even my work colleague, a Crows supporter, took exception to her level of barracking). Not only was she loud, but her comments smacked of entry level understanding of football (I'd forgotten why I stopped going to games).
I politely asked her to not scream in my ear, & all I recieved was a torrent of abuse & sledging that would make a Dockie blush. I gave her 1 warning, pointing out that I was polite in asking, & that I didn't say don't barrack for your team, just not in my ear.
Now, despite being a C'wood supporter, it does not make it cart blanche for abuse- had I been sitting there drunk, stoned or whatever & abusing the cheerleaders before the start of the game, I would've expected some heavy sledging (albeit from morons), but not when I was sitting there quietly, with another Crows supporter.
My point is that it's true- Crows fans are ignorant morons (CP excluded, as he supplied me with a ticket, & anyone else here who hsa done me a favour )
I will point out that this "lady's" husband was lucky that she saw reason, as it would've been him nursing the broken jaw....

McGregor cannot kick 50m so he should not be a forward, period.

McGregor always looks to pass off, even when he is within 40m, he is a natural defender, lets play him where he plays his best footy, that is at CHB

In my opinion it is Stevens...

I admit, Stevens has played some good footy but he is not a CHB, I have watched him closely, he reads the play well and picks up plenty of uncontested footy, my concern is that in a one on one contest he gets out bodied and out marked way too easily, this happened on Saturday night against Travis Cloke

Finals are tight, hard contested footy, one on one contests all over the ground, I do not think this style of footy suits Stevens, he is not my 1st choice CHB, I would have Mcgregor

Well then he does not play! He has played well in Bocks absense but our best backline would be Hart, Bock, Bassett, Rutten, Johncock and McLeod and if Bock is not fit then McGregor

you can also throw torney and massie back.....

i have concerns over Hart's fitness, we cant afford selecting Hart and for him to break down........
