Maric very unlucky has played a couple of great games but he had to make way for Tippett!

Will be interesting to see where Mckernan plays, looks like we are playing very tall for this game!

GC have named Kirk Tippetts brother Joel at FB, could be an interesting match-up. Also, Nathan Ablett comes into the GC team for his first game with the club and first AFL game since the 2007 GF.

Yes Maric is unlucky.
Unfortunately Tippett can pinch hit in the ruck and with this sub rule it cancels out playing two genuine talls.
But, with the last couple of games Maric has played if he does want to leave we may get something a bit more in return for him.

I wouldnt blame him if he left but would love to keep him as a backup if Sauce ever went down!

This would be our best side since round 1, very confident of a good win this week!

Agreed. Very strong line up this weekend.

Will be interesting to see how Tippett and Walker go together again. Also looking forward to the Tippett v Tippett battle.

I think as long as Tippett is @ CHF and Walker FF they should work very well together. But with Tippett up the ground, is it to much work for him during the game?

Walker has been named at CHF I think. I like him a lot better closer to goal personally.

I dont mind Tex at CHF Ginga.... It forces our lads to lower their eyes and hit the lead up target rather than bombing on tips head. Tex leads instinctively and Tip doesnt. If tex can duke them 60-70 out he can swing round and hit Tip or have a shot if around the 60 mark. Also, its harder for the defenders to peel off on the full back line and id back Tip 1 on 1

My main concern with Walker @ CHF is when Adelaide is on the defensive. I don't believe he has the workrate to help lock it in our forward line. Close to goal if he doesn't take the mark it hits the deck and the crumbers can do the rest, but on the half forward line if the ball goes to ground then I think the defenders have a better chance of running it out.

I think you will find the forward line structure will not change much at all. Sauce/Tippett will swap and rotate through the ruck and at FF. The last few weeks Walker has been that lead up forward starting about 30m from goals and Sauce/Maric there for the long kick in or 2nd option. With good delivery they will work very well together!

That is the key right there!

True, but the way we have been playing/trying to play! having that lead out CHF will help our structure and stop us kicking to the opposition inside 50 with the longer kick. Tip wont be able to ruck if he plays CHF, he's be knackered.

Will be interesting to see where Smac plays, he may play the backup ruckman! Gives flexability

Also great to see Dmac back in and Douglas! one of them would start as the sub id say

I'll throw this one out there then what about a 2 - 4 set up with Walker & Tippett leading out from the goalsquare and 4 smalls (or 3 smalls & smac) across half forward?

Dunno, footy tactics aren't my strong point so that could be a ridiculous suggestion.

Not so silly, carlton do something similar. The thing is betts, garlett etc lead up and are nippy so makes it easier! our blokes are slower and more crumbers IMO.... We also have Gunston down there who was quiet last week after 2 really good ones

one forward will get a big bag this week, Probably Walker or Gunston. one of those two will get K Hunt as an opponent. both way to smart for him.
