Port Adelaide has officially announced Ebert's desire to trasfer home.
Obviously it's been much talked about in recent months.
What will they have to give up for him? Worth it?
Swap Brett and a high draft pick for Brad?

Port Adelaide making announcements for Brad Ebert? Done deal behind the scenes?

Thought Adelaide might end up with both Ebert and Dangerfield after all the curfuffle on draft day when Dangerfield was selected by Adelaide over Ebert

What would Port need to give?

Maybe their first round pick and in return Port receive Ebert and the West Coasts second round pick?

Is there where the people start complaining about the go home factor? Or is that just a one way street?

Power straight swap. Ebert for powers first round pick.

They rate him highly. Picked at number 13. Had 4 years at the eagles (IIRC). Ports pick 6 seems a reasonable trade IMO

Only Harry Taylor (90 games) and Cyril rioli (83 games) have played more games then Ebert from his draft. Ebert has played 76 games

I doubt Port will part with pick 6 even though I agree the Eagles will ask for that, at least initially.

I reckon there's a fair chance he may finish up at the Crows in a multi club deal involving Gunston or Maric, maybe with picks involved as well.

As a Port supporter though I hope we get him (without having to give up pick 6).

thats true. The crows could be big players in this. He has only siad his preferred club is the Power, but simply wants to return home to the state. Thats my understanding.

Pick 6 would be fair though and i dont think hte power will risk losing him in the preseason draft

Surjan & Motlop in exchange. Heck, throw Pettigrew in there too! That's fair. ;)

2nd round pick and Surjan may do it although Im not overly confident.

Unfortunately Motlop and Pettigrew hold no trade currency.

Dont see a second round pick and surjan being enough IMO. Not in this years draft anyways. Ebert is only 21, will bleed for the guernsey at the power and hsa played over 70 games already. Pick 6 could be a miss this year anyways. Good trade i think

I doubt Port will do it though. I guess we'll find out next week.

Yeah true. I just think they need to. He fits them perfectly. Adds midfield depth, who can go forward and play as a third tall (like he did when Kennedy missed a couple games this year. Got an overhead mark similar to Bartel). He is a passionate power person. Always being talked about his leadership abilities. I think this is the one you must get and must be willing to give up something good for.

Zero chance Port will give up pick 6 for Ebert...will maybe offer a surjan or a pettigrew and a lower pick.

Pick 6 ....tell em they're dreaming

why do you think that?

Im not sure he's a "passionate Power person", I believe he supported Essendon as a kid. But yes his background has a large Port flavour with his year or 2 at the Magpies, plus well documented family involvement.

He's not in their best 22.....and not worthy of pick 6. Pretty confident we will use pick 6 on the best available youngster in the draft unless Collingwood offer us Dane Swan or Geelong offer us Bartel.

The fact that Port has announced that Ebert is keen to come home would suggest to me a trade has been agreed to or we've just stuffed shit up again by announcing stuff that doesnt need to be announced until it's official.

Would not give up pick 6 for Ebert in this draft IMHO. Would want another player or draft choice to be giving up pick 6
