Apart from your club's song, which of the opposition sides has the best ? (thought doing it that way would get a more accurate picture)
I really like Brisbane's (and I'm not even French).
I have left an option for a possible new Freo song if and when that happens.

I had to vote for Freo's - it's the only one I can even vaguely remember..

I just like the fact the Saints use what is essentially a funeral march as theirs. I wonder when they'll cotton on to that?

Hey, we finished 4th in 2001 and made the prelim finals. We won it 1980. We are a good side ;)

What about '95?

We have the best song, followed by Collingwood and St Kilda.

Quite the opposite.
Its played on the way to burials and the lyrics descibe people entering the pearly gates. Traditionally something a bit more upbeat is played after the funeral.
Unless death is looked upon as a victory?
Not in my book though!

No wonder St Kilda have won nothing of note since they started using it when they run out to a funeral march!

The song is apocalyptic, taking much of its imagery from the Book of Revelation, but excluding its more horrific depictions of the Last Judgment. The verses about the Sun and Moon refer to Solar and Lunar eclipses; the trumpet (of the Archangel Gabriel) is the way in which the Last Judgment is announced. As the hymn expresses the wish to go to Heaven, picturing the saints going in (through the Pearly Gates), it is entirely appropriate for funerals.

Richmond by a mile. Can you imagine the yellow & black roar at the G if we ever won a grand final. Hopefully we find out in the next 20 years or so

Depends what you think happens after that, Wedgie
Reminds me of a joke- Two footballers who always played in the same team and were best mates made a pact --- the first one to die had to "come back" in a dream and let his buddy know if they played footy in Heaven.
Jack died first, and true to word came back and told Jim "I've got good news and bad news ---
they play it, mate, and you're leading the first ruck this Saturday"

Well only 2 things can happen.
1) Nothing (not good)
2) You go to a make believe place.

For (2) to happen St Kilda would have to believe in god and Id be pretty comfortable in saying that since theyve won nothing since implementing that song that theyd sure as hell not believe in a god of any kind!
