TRENT HENTSCHELL free kick ?

Postby mal » Mon Aug 28, 2006 12:46 am

HENTSCHELL got injured when ridden into the ground in
the forward pocket v Port, with Adelaide leading at the time.
I am stunned there was not a free kick given to him.
This was the turning point of the game in my opinion.

Was it a free kick ?

I am a believer that umpiring never influences the outcome of a game as the best team on the day is the winner.Keeping this in mind,at Footy Park yesterday the "in-the-back" rule was completely wavered by the umpires,Scott McLaren displaying his love for the AFC once again (LMAO),how long ago did the rule change to allow players to drive an opponent into the ground face first? This happened about 8 or more times yesterday and cost Adelaide 1 goal and another free kick on the wing.Umpiring yesterday was as bad as I have seen all year, and it has been of a very low standard.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Maybe the umpire was confused and thought he was Gary Ablett. Junior gets clobbered every week (especially against that cheat Steven Baker) and never gets a free kick. If it was Cameron Mooney he would have been reported for knocking the Port bloke over!

Seriously though, terrible luck for Hentschell. Will Bassett play this week? It looked like a broken jaw.

Hmn. todays back page Advertiser 28/8/06.
Clearly shows Hentschell being tackled without possession.
Imagine explaining what happened to an 8 year old kid.

Poor umpiring for sure and certain.
Worst descision of the year, no doubt.

My vote goes to the deliberate out of bounds call against Darren Milburn in the Richmond game. He cleverly flipped the ball behind his opponent and it took a crook bounce and went out. Result? Richmond goal. DOH.

The push into the turf was the poor adjudication.
Bit like after disposal.

I thought that the initial contest should of seen Hentschell get a free kick for holding when the ball was sent in to the forward line !!!!

Hentschell then got on with it got the ball and then got ridden in to China !!!!

Not the reason we lost as Port were much hungrier and as I have said before there GF for this year.
It is what it is !!!

Trent free kick, you have to say yes, given the same tackle was applied to EBERT at the other end of the field and a free was paid, it was the same circumastance, tackler from behind, arms wrapped around the waist, momentum pushing both players forward

So either Ebert's free kick was not or Trent should of been paid a free

Consistency is all we ask for

Maybe the umpire was confused and thought he was Scott West. Westy gets clobbered every week (especially against that cheat Cam "Dinga" Ling and never gets a free kick. If it was Brian Harris he would have been reported for knocking the Port bloke over!

Seriously though, terrible luck for Hentschell. Will Bassett play this week? It looked like a broken jaw.
