If the rumblings in Melbourne are true there might be atleast 1 more high paid player to be moved on.
Plenty of talk that either Swan or Shaw wont be there next year

Both? Would essentially be the end of the rogue element that was fostered under Malthouse's reign.

Buckley has a clear culture vision and has a very promising bunch of youngsters that need to be steered in the right direction.

"his meeting-room interjections and objections are a thing of legend at Collingwood"

Shaw is even more demonstrative off the field!

Why would you flick Harry O? He can still play a bit I reckon.

Would getting rid of shaw settle swan down off field? Surely it would be worth a shot as he is too good a player to just trade out without trying something first

Maybe a move to Essendon might calm him down? They do their interjections off-site

Swanny mostly runs amok in the off-season. Seems to me he goes about footy season fairly unassumedly.

Didnt he also recently say that he isnt that passionate about football and would consider walking away in a year or two?
Pies are not going to win a flag in the next few years, if they can get some decent picks for him then it makes sense to move him around.
Package Swan and Shaw to GWS for their pick 1.
If Boyd is as good as they say he will form a formidable partnership with Cloke.
Pies have some good kids and could have a decent crack in 4-5 years time

Swan is nearly 30. Trade him I reckon. He had a sudden rise to the elite ranks, and his fall will be just as quick.

GWS dont need Boyd with Cameron and Patton. They need some mature midfielders for 2-5 years. Swann and Heater would be ideal.

Collingwood would still be fine through the midfield with Pendels, Beams, Ball, Sidebottom etc alot depends on Daisy's decision

IIRC, Swan signed on during 2012 for 3 years making 2015 his last season. He noted that that would be it.

I think he plays it out and then retires. Gives Josh Thomas another year to mature into that role.

Agreed!
Dont ya love it when other club supporters start dribbling about us trading those two.

Heath Shaw though will be read the riot act and then its a test of character to see how he handles getting a bollocking from the coach.
He may want out, then so be it!
