Hooray for Patrick Dangerfield! He has now won three Grand Final sprints in a row. May this glorious run of Grand Final successes continue!

Go Paddy!

Should have joined the Cats mate.

If he'd joined Geelong, he'd be playing footy most GF days.
He may win 10 GF sprints. That'd be some kind of record!

Thats what I thought also. Did he give the prizemoney to charity? Seems strange to send your gun footballer too the GF sprint.

Its the only time he'll see the G on Grand Final day. Too cheap to buy a ticket the tightarse.

For two decades, from the 1970-1988 Geelong were shit.

They won 1 final for the whole 1970's. And a total of 2 finals in that 19 year period.
Their average finishing position in those years was 7th in a time when for the most part there was only 12 teams.

Between 67 and 89, 5 teams won premierships. If you take out North and Essendon 3 clubs shared 18 flags. Were the Cats sh*t? or were Carlton, Hawthorn and Richmond just so much better?

Premierships:

Carlton in 68,70,72,79,81-82 and 87
Hawthorn 71,76,78,83,86,88-89
Richmond 67,69,73-74,80
North Melbourne 75,77
Essendon 84-85

Also considering during that period, only St. Kilda in 71 and Collingwood in 70,77,79-81 competed in grand finals aside from those 5. For 7 teams to compete for 23 years worth of grand finals is pretty lopsided if you ask me.

Consider 90-13 where 11 sides have won flags and only 4 sides failed to compete in a GF (including 2 expansion sides)- id say the comp is a hell of a lot more even than what it was in the aforementioned period.

St Kilda were shit in that time, mate.
Don't lower Geelong to their status.

Geelong had the 4th worst win loss record in the 1970's.
StKildas was better.

That is shit.

In the 1980's Geelong were better than average with the 5th best winning percentage. I stand corrected there.
