Parish’s effort just as bad.
As I’ve been saying for months we are the unfittest and laziest team in the comp. No one willing or able to do the hard stuff

I know in previous posts Jim you seem to stick up for Rutten and put it all on the players.

But surely the coach is responsible for this, he either takes action and drops these big names for this complete lack of effort, or he needs to go himself if he can’t motivate them
I’m not fully convinced on Rutten but I don’t think it serves us well by chopping him after a year and a bit.
I think our list profile is wrong and we simply don’t have the cattle but what is concerning me is our fitness and our fitness team need to all be fired. We had guys not presenting in great shape which is on the players but we have suffered the most soft tissue injuries and look woefully unfit.
Rutten does have to start making a statement with some of these blokes but unfortunately we don’t have much in the reserves currently

Was the Shiel one a fitness issue though. If King is correct apparently he had literally just got back on after having one of his rotations and it was his first contest. Seemed to be simply an effort issue.

No one willing to work hard, all front runners

Is it the clubs trainers/doctors etc fault or is it Stringer just doesn't have the body for the demands of the AFL and more the fact your recruiting injury prone players.

I don't recall exactly but he was pretty injury prone at the Bulldogs as well wasn't he??? Could be wrong but I seem to recall him always killing my supercoach teams being out injured every second week.

I know that this is the Essendon bagging thread but the Eagles have to come close when discussing who is the unfittest team in the comp. A couple of their players have Dad bods and sausage arms. Compare them to Freo and it's chalk and cheese.

100% either the Eagles guernsey fittings are not flattering or they are completely out of shape.

$495 tickets to the 150th dinner, sold less than half of them.

I think that is symptomatic of the whole game at the national elite level post Covid

People staying home rather than watch at the ground, more judicious choices on memberships, other social activity choices.

The days of of balancing budgets by increasing revenue are fading. Expenditure cuts and more servicing of stakeholders will be required.

In this case it doesn't help that you've got a disenfranchised supporter base at Essendon.

The rusted on supporters like you at Port, me at the Bays will always back up the truck to support our clubs but "the floating voter" isn't that ready to do so anymore not with the interesting financial times ahead.

Setting a price of $495 a head rules out the rusted on like you and me.

I agree on that point.

The point I'm trying to make is AFL industry using these types of events as revenue raising by charging exorbinate prices along with an expectation to bid on auction items at that event. The $495 price is symptomatic of that arrogance (not just picking on Essendon here)

Reeks of an absolute failure to read the room of what the broader economic scene is and given the restrictions on these types of functions in the last two years people have got used to not going to these events.

That footage shown last night on footy classified of Truck being ignored by one of his players on the bench was horrific. The disrespect...I would have delisted whoever that pleb was on the spot.

Yep, that was Nick Hind a few weeks ago.
I would have delisted him on the spot.
Staggering to think he is still being picked after that.

It was a tad misleading, they showed clips of Port running amok against Essendon beforehand inferring it was from the weekend when in fact the bench footage came from the game vs North when they were comfortably in front.
