So I don't derail another thread I would start a new one.

Can golf Coast make the finals this year?

They are currently 5-2, so they are currently going really well.

Their draw looks like this

Stk A - W
WB H - W
ADL A - 50/50
SYD H - L
WC A - L
GEEL H -L
HAW A - L
COLL H 50/50
WB A - W
BL A - W
STK H -W
CARL A - W
PORT H - L
ESS A - 50/50

So that means 6 wins and 3 50/50 from here, which would make 12.5 wins. Gonna be tight. Looks like the crows and essendon away games become must wins for them.

Really tough 6 weeks in between the two bulldogs games, and if they can get 2 wins out of there I think they make finals.

Could come down to the last game of the season against essendon, for both of them really

Essendon, Cows, Gold Cost...all making up the numbers. Cost for the last spot I reckon.

Probably sounds about right. 7th and 8th between north melb, west coast, gold coast, essendon, crows. Top 5 plus freo are pretty assured of finals I think.

Gold Coast could have 2 wins on west coast, essendon and freo after this week though.

North will shit it in. Essendon are crap and West Coast and Adelaide are flat track bullies. Gold Coast play Brisbane twice while the Eagles cop Freo and the Blackbirds cop Port. Good luck with that.

You are wrong there mate. The crows don't even go well on the flat tracks :(

Has Karmichael Hunt played a game this year?

I thought last year he was starting to turn the corner as an okay AFL level player but haven't heard much about him this year at all and heard on one of the footy shows he's out of contract after this season and GC aren't going to stand in hi way to return to rugby league.

Edit: I should've done the google first.

The fact that K.Hunt was allegedly able to command a 7 figure salary is a slap in the face for every genuine AFL star.

Ablett earns every cent of his salary, the fact that K.Hunt could get somewhat close to his salary adds insult to injury, and with Ablett at Gold Coast there was never any need for K.Hunt anyway from a marketing perspective.

Another legacy left to us from Vlad.

Gold Coast should release him now.

It was worth the marketing dollars in the first couple of years. But they don't need him now

Pretty sure they signed Hunt before they landed Ablett.

I suspect Hunt was the 'back up plan' marketing wise in case they missed out on Ablett's signature.

Correct Hunt played some games when they were in the VFL for 1 season before they were in the AFL.

I can assure you the K.Hunt experiment and marketing ploy was well worth the $$ and effort.

We could well be sitting outright 2nd after this round! OUTRAGEOUS!! :D :D

Could read:
1. Port
2. Gold Coast
3. Hawthorn
4. Sydney
5. Collingwood
6. Geelong
7. Fremantle
8. West Coast

Who would've predicted a ladder like that at the start of the season!

No surprises to many but the K-Hunt has announced he wont continue at Gold Coast next season.

I'm a little heart broken, but I think his time at the Suns is probably a little unappreciated in football circles and he has done a tremendous job accepting the challenge of trying to become an AFL footballer and having some success over the past 5 years.

Phanto as a league fan you'd appreciate more than most on here how hard the transition is between the two codes. When Khunt first started up he had the huge thighs of a league man. Built to be low to the ground and piledriving into the deck to get that forward power. He did himself no favours by pissing off to France to play Rugby before starting with the Suns but once he finally got up here he did everything he could to make a success out of his AFL career.

He was smart enough to learn from the master and as time went by his body started to transform into the leaner running machine you have to become to play our great game. He had a real crack and got people talking about AFL up here so the move should be judged a success. Unlike Izzy he went into the mids and that requires a lot more running than other positions on the field. Meanwhile, the Gold Coast A League team is gone, The Titans don't draw dick and Metricon is hosting reasonable crowds on a fortnightly basis. Khunt has had a lot to do with making that happen.
