Is he injured again? He was playing some pretty good footy.

I was having coffee with Damien Barrett and Rucci earlier today and they said there was a 1% chance he was going to retire and they were going to run the story.

I can only report on the chinese whispers I hear.

Lewis Roberts Thompson has announced his retirement. Champion.. One of my faves. His performances in the 2 winning gf's were excellent and was a bit stiff not to win the norm smith in 2005... Very reliable. Gun

He'd played, what, 10 games of footy before he'd been drafted?
Unfashionable but hard at it and talented.

I think most of us respect the guys that football (or any sport really) didn't come easy to them and they had to work their ass off to get to where they are. He is one of them

Nick Fosdike was stiff too. Great call about LRT, always admire the players that get by predominately through honesty and sheer will.

Your surely looking for a bite and taking the piss here???

LRT and the words 'Champion' and 'Gun' simply don't go together.

Wasn't the worst but Champion and Gun you've got to be F**king kidding me.

Not at all. He's champion and gun in my books. I'm obviously bias, as a swans supporter he's been great for us! His performances in big games have been brilliant!!

He'd be a walk up start for port :)

That's not the point, plenty of players from other sides would make Port's team at the moment.

You can call him a champion and gun if you like, but the words will be less significant when describing footballers forever more if you choose to. ;)

dual premiership player probably allows you to call him a champion, in the most literal sense of the word.

but he aint no gun :D

Aaron Keating is a premiership player and he ain't no champion..........or gun ;)

Do agree with @Carey and @Booney - LRT was a good player but certainly no champion. The term "champion" is used way to loosely* these days.....
