If we sacked Sanderson to get the likes of Voss I'm tempted to switch off! Would prefer us take Dew over Voss - Dew at least knows what it takes to firstly havea winning culture and eventually win flags - he has been on both sides as a player and now an assistant coach - Voss was an awesome player but but not so good as a coach - maybe we watched too much of the Recruit!

I think Sando is a bit hard done by here. I would have given him another season but if you don't have the backing of your players its never going to work well.

Maybe this is another ploy by Nigel Smart to get more publicity then port?

I've got to say I though our last 5 weeks of the season were terrible. We had a final 8 spot easily in our sights and pretty much stuffed it up week after week.

That's a fair point Hondo.

Adelaide should have, really should have won enough games over the last month to secure a finals berth. Their opening month was Geelong, Sydney and Port so a difficult draw got them behind the 8 ball....but no excuses, the last 6-8 weeks was clearly below par and perhaps the playing group had already given up on the Sanderson message.

Surely they couldn't go for Simon Goodwin, having met the guy over lunch despite being a nice guy he clearly wan't the smartest bloke going around nor did he have much charisma.
Maybe Sanderson has overachieved with the Crows?
Best win rate of all Crows coaches with some ordinary players and having to put up with the biggest dipshits in the country following his club.
Sando, you're welcome back at the Cats although I think he'll end up a Collingwood.

Chapman - says the last 2 seasons were unacceptable

but you were part of the board who gave him an extension after an unacceptable season....

I think he should have been given another year.

but this is great to watch

Chapman needs to go as well. He has been involved with every debacle since 2012

What they have done is remove the coach to stem the possible requests for trades as players wanting to get out grows.

Sanderson a Scapegoat
Postby FOURTH ESTATE » Fri Nov 16, 2012 1:02 pm

Will the Crows make Sanderson a scapegoat in a few years time when the list is a mess due to the fines and draft picks lost when the they are at the bottom of the table with no decent players when age sets in.

Could he sue them for false representation of a football club and lack of honesty.
(Being serious here).

Could do damage to his reputation through no fault of him own but by mis-mangement by club officials.

If they are found guilty of the now Van Berlo charges is Rob Chapman now in the gun for his quote?

Gee might have been on the money back then!!!!! and everybody hailed me down as a Numbskull among other names

Best list some wrote and will play finals for the next 4-6 years. Well that one worked out well didn't it now :prayer: :prayer: :butthead:

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Yep this is what drives me nuts about our current corporate world and current media

Chapman can make a comment like that yet you guarentee there will be no consequences to him or the board and you can guarentee the media will let this slip when they start bidding to get the exclusive on who the new coach is

Sandos win-loss record is a little decieving. 39-30 (56.5%) in his 3 years as coach but his first year was 17-5. Since then the club has gone 10-12 and 11-11 = 21-44 (47%). Yes there were draft sanctions and injuries but like it has been mentioned on here, this year has been below standard especially the last month or so of footy when finals were on the line.

Perhaps the up/dpown season was due to this player unrest the media is talking about.

Rodney Eade might be worth a look at. Played in 4 flags at Hawthorn, coached Sydney to a GF and Bulldogs to 3 Prelims in a row and has remained in the system being at Collingwood since 2011. But we know that AFL clubs are all after the next big thing and go for young coaches, Hinkley being the exception to the rule.

Isn't it great.

SANFL clubs are struggling financially, the SANFL gives the Crows members free entry into the comp, gives the crows club free rent on west lakes and they go and waste 1m plus because of some inner fighting

Didn't Chapman say they would have an exhausting search for the right coach, and in the next breath say they wanted a premiership coach, and in the next breath say some of them are currently involved in finals? Well that leaves 4 teams. :D

Yep he can make all these claims about needing a premiership coach but when they get there next coach and sack them without a premiership he won't be held accountable for any of his current comments
