2-3 away with a hamstring. I've been watching his work this year. Had one handball and 4 hit outs coming off the bench in round 1's 130 point loss to Collingwood and badly injured a hamstring. Is still listed as 2-3 away meaning it was a 4-5 weeker.

I'm not certain he's a forward. I actually think he'd be better in defence - his problems being that he's not quick and not tall. I think he's only 190cm or something, certainly not tall enough for a key position in attack and not quick enough to be a hit up half forward. The jury is still out for me.

I think they should have reached their unpopular verdict by now, he's in the last year of his contract and averages under 10 touches per game, under a goal a game, I know he's young and I know he's only played 30 games but if he can't find a spot in this Carlton line up and make it his own will he be able to in 5 years?

In fact, you might not want to think about that.

I've had a few people who know me well asking if we'll stick with the rebuild, or moreso when we'll bail out. I said the same thing to all of them - I can't see another option.

It's like we're half pregnant. We have to stick with it. I fully support it although I know we're going to have several lean years ahead.

The worst thing we can do now is go into next season's draft and recruit another Daisy Thomas clone.

How many players have you recruited from other clubs over the past few years that have actually been a win?

Marchbank?
you could probably add matty wright into that who has been good

Misses/Jury Still out?
Garlett
Jones
Kennedy
Kerridge
Lamb
Lang
Lobbe
Mullett
O'Shea
Phillips
Pickett
Shaw
Silvagni
Thomas

That is a terrible strike rate. Recruiting department has gotta cop a lot of the blame

Marchbank yep.
Lang and Kennedy yet to get a real crack. Not much joy in the rest. Jones’ best and worst are so far apart yet nothing in between.
Those within the club say Thomas’ real impact has been with the development on younger blokes, they’d know better than me.
I’d throw Docherty in as a win, wouldn’t you?

Long rebuild ahead again. But some good players to work with. Cripps is a great player and a great leader out there. Then you habe some good young guys like Fisher and Seaton to work with.

Lots and Lots of pain in store but you'll lool at bit better with Murphy and Doherty back in the long term.

Give the captaincy to Cripps or Curnow ASAP.
We did it with Sticks in 86 and that worked out well in 87.
