Mitchell surprises me as Rich was good last week, thought he'd get that job.

If Schulz plays next year, what would be the best way to fit him, Dixon, Lobbe and Ryder in the same team, or do you?

We don't. Dixon plays at home, Schulz up and around, Ryder in the middle. Lobbe is traveling the SANFL grounds.

Honestly I think you need to blood someone to work with Dixon. Schultz looks done to be honest. I know Doogie went down with a knee but what else is in the cupboard besides Butcher?

Not much, to be honest. Keep in mind we've been without Ryder, Monfries all year and Schulz, Lobbe for all but. So while the cupboard looks bare in terms of kids, it's got at least 3 maybe 4 ( if Schulz goes on ) ready to return.

Jesse Palmer ( 186cm/88kg ) is a medium sized forward, he must be close to a debut and both valleys07 and I like the look of him. Monfries (185/76) will be back in and he plays more marking than ground level.

With Young (188/81) making a spot his own this year I can see the forward line :

Young Westhoff Monfries
Wingard Dixon Palmer

Then Gray, Boak, Ebert, Ryder can go through there.

If he meets the required physical pre-committments, I'd be giving Schultz another season too

Love how Lobbe is always mentioned when injuries are given as an excuse for this season. Conveniently forgotten that a, he was terrible when selected and b, he was dropped before getting injured.
Not like Port people to rewrite history though is it?

Really only ever had the one good season from memory (which I'll admit could be wrong). Would be huge for the Power if he could re-capture that 2014 form.

Correct Days.
And apparently Monfries was a superstar before he was suspended. ;)
They are in real trouble if they are relying on Lobbe, Monfries and Shutlz for next year.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I think Schulz is done. I can't see Port sticking with him next season due to age, injury and Ryder slotting back into a forward/ruck role.

I heard that Monfries hasn't been offered any certainties that he'll get a game next year. Not a good sign when you're at Rd 19 and nothing has been tabled to you yet.

They have already stated he'll get a new contract for next season. If your invited to the dance your at least a chance of getting on the dance floor.

Unless you're lobbe, then it's also hard to find form when you're fit :)

Cue firmly in the rack now :

Jack Hombsch and Alipate Carlile have successfully undergone surgery today to address respective hip and PCL injuries.

They will not return for the remainder of the 2016 season.

Hombsch’s surgery was performed on the hip opposite to the one that underwent the same procedure last year.

By undergoing surgery now, Hombsch will be able to return to training before Christmas, according to Port Adelaide’s head of high performance Darren Burgess.

“Hombschy has encountered a hip problem that needs addressing now if he’s going to be able to get back on track before Christmas next pre-season,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“Considering he’d need to spend some time in the SANFL even if he returned in the next few weeks, we’ve taken a longer view towards him and that means surgery is in his best interests.

“He’ll take about 16 weeks to fully recover.

“We took a similar approach to Carlile’s PCL as we did with Matt Lobbe – which was pretty conservative – but where ‘Lobbes’ responded well, Bobby hasn’t.

“We expect him [Carlile] to be back at full training in about 12 weeks.”

With Carlile off for surgery and Mitchell and Schulz dropped we get a look at some of the list changes.
