What would it take to get him here at the end of this year - ie a trade?

A fair bit I would say. Expect to to give up at least 2 first rounders.

Not when he is a free agent the year after and can come to us for nothing that year.

The compensation pick would be a first rounder I would think - would they take the crows' first pick to get him off their books a year early?

Would the crows do that or would they wait it out given thommo will likely go around again next year?

If Brad Crouch goes I'd expect a 3 way trade could be in the works

They'd wait for free agency for sure.
No way he's worth 2 x first rounders BTW.

First rounder plus a player like CEY I'd imagine. Lions need players more than trade picks ATM

I was thinking CEY as well Jim. A good fringe player who would go to get more game time and a first rounder.

Not a bad call. Would be a regular AFL player in a few teams, not dissimilar to Kerridge in that regard. Would have some currency

That's disappointing, especially with Brown also out. Lost a bit of toughness in the small defenders this week.

Laird is a big out. It's no secret when he misses out our decision making and disposal from half back goes to shit.

Not good I hope it's only 1 week. Many other blokes will need to step up in his absence.

probably not a bad week to miss though given they have fasolo out too and not much else in terms of small forwards

I think you will still be fine, fi you can't get past Collingwood with only Laird out then Heaven help you. I think you'll still be far to good, minimum 6 goals.
