Sad what has happened and it shows what how bad the racism was and also what the indigenous players went through at collingwood but this bloke cries wolf and then contradicts himself with his speech at the collingwood presentations.
How exactly did Lumumba contradict himself at the Collingwood presentation? The only person who seems to be contradicting himself is you. Calling out racism is not "crying wolf". He was the victim.
" My values are congruent with the collingwood football club" Lumumba's words exactly, the year before we let him go.
But anyway that's irrelevant.
Fact is we've *"*ked up and will pay for it now financially and image wise.
I'm not denying that nor condoning what's happened in the past.
What amps me is the pile on from some holier than thou blokes chucking rocks at us.
How about North, or St Kilda, or Adelaide put themselves through the same process and see how squeaky clean they are.
Footy is a reflection of society and just like the drug problem, we have a race issue.
Since Lumumba's complaint, collingwood put people in positions to make sure we didn't have any further race related issues.
Whilst I'm certainly not proud of the findings I am proud we've stood up and done something.
Its a little like essendons self-reporting. Ballsy but had to be done.
