We haven't seen the best of him yet. Trade him and he'll kill us.
Elliott's great when his body let's him play. May have a question mark next to his name after 2 strings.

Well it was a win but geez we crawled to the line.
Injury to Dunn hurts but hopefully its not season ending. If it is Moore is going to be so important when he comes back.

COLLINGWOOD defender Lynden Dunn will miss the rest of the season after scans confirmed he has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The 31-year-old left the field in the third term of Saturday night's win over Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium after landing awkwardly in a marking contest with Sun Nick Holman.

If he has a traditional knee reconstruction, Dunn, whose contract expires at the end of this year, will likely be sidelined for up to half next year as well.

The negating defender has been an important part of the Magpies' backline this season, with injuries to Darcy Moore and fellow veteran Tyson Goldsack.

Dunn has played every game this season where his leadership and defensive experience have been vital for a young Collingwood backline.

With Moore likely to resume in the VFL this week after a long-term layoff with a hamstring injury, and unavailable for AFL selection, the Magpies may turn to mature-age rookie Brody Mihocek who could be pushed into defence to cover the loss of Dunn.

Dunn joins Daniel Wells (foot) and Goldsack as those Magpies who have been ruled out for the season, with star midfielder Adam Treloar (hamstring) to be sidelined until at least September.

Was just thinking today how his recruitment reminded me of our acquisition of Leigh Brown. A perfect fit for us and now a huge loss as we look to consolidate in the top 4.

Never thought I'd describe Dunn as a huge loss.

That's bloody crap news.
Big ask for mihocek. He has the size but does he have defenders smarts?
Could Wills play in defence maybe?
Along with Mayne, Dunn has been a bit of a surprise.

Reid and Moore can both take his spot in due course, but short term they'll have to swing things around a bit.

DAYS after Lynden Dunn’s season was brought to a devastating end, Collingwood’s injury toll has worsened with swingman Ben Reid set to miss at least another month.

While full back Dunn had surgery to repair his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament on Tuesday, Reid’s injury-interrupted season went from bad to worse when he went under the knife for a knee scrape on Monday.

Reid, who played a key role in Collingwood’s premiership in 2010 and was an All-Australian the following year, has played just six of the first 15 rounds due to calf and knee issues and might not return until the final month of the home and away season.

“The news is not so good for Ben. He has been struggling with his knees and calf for the last few weeks,” Collingwood’s head of football Geoff Walsh said on collingwoodfc.com.au.

Wow that's as ugly a win as you can get.
Umpiring was terrible all day, mostly in our favour, which kept us in it.
Unfortunately looks like Appleby has a hammy and Will didn't look great either.
At least we'll get Moore and Varcoe next week.

While you can only beat who you play, they only have one win vs a top 8 side (Melbourne).
West Coast, North, Richmond, Sydney & Port to come. I’m still not sold on them yet. They were very fortunate to win yesterday IMO, a lot of “things” went their way.

Nah, too many good players on the sidelines. Bucks proving to be an excellent game day tactician though.

Not quite yet.
Richmond aside I think the rest are beatable.
I've said it before, Moore is going to be so important in the air and Varcoes leg speed and forward pressure make him important to.
If they stay fit and we dont lose anyone else then we can definitely finish top 2.
Bucks coaching very well.

A weeks a long time in footy. Last week umpires loved us this week....not so much!
Kicking skills and decision making yuck!
Windy conditions caused indecision and we turned it over a lot.
Tackling pressure wasn't there after 1/4 time.
Them losing nic nat gave us an edge and I think we thought it would just happen.
Big game this week.

Your kidding about the umpiring right. You had 4 goals given to you directly from free kicks. Had a great run for the first 3 quarters.
Tackling pressure dropped right away, gave WC time to use the footy through the corridor.
Actually you really missed Cox as your small/medium forwards looked dangerous all day but McGovern had no reason to spoil it marking over shorter opponents.
