Means they wont bottom out entirely - too many hardened bodies in the midfield to do that.

But the 7 teams above them, plus St Kilda, Melbourne, Collingwood, Port all seem to have more upside

Not sure about that, Brown looks like he's on the improve but scoring power is going to rely on Waite as the CHF and Brown close to goal. Thomas and Higgins as the smalls. Look thin in the front half.

They were 8th for points for in 2016, Melbourne and St Kilda within 10 points of them for the year. In 2016 Brown kicked 41, Thomas 37, Harvey 36, Waite 29, Petrie 27, Goldstein 20 and Ziebell 18.

So two of their top 7 are gone and 2 of them are midfielders, one of them plays 90% in the ruck. Hardly suggests they have scoring options. Higgins the biggest addition to that list after missing a bit of 2016. Can't believe how much they are going to rely on Waite.

So have the selectors. Daw kicked 9 in 9 games, Wood 12 in 8 games - ( 16 in his 16 games to date ).

Hanging your hat on them then?

Wood is a young player with a bright future. I would say his numbers will increase next season.

Not at all, but you're making it sound like there's only a reliance on Brown, Higgins & Waite - which is simply wrong.

True, you're also relying on a 16 gamer and Daw.

Forward line and Backline is fine, the list management/development need is outside mids/wingers.

Booney comparing our scoring power to Saints & Melbourne is seriously flawed when you compare to the draw each club had.

I'm not comparing you to St Kilda and Melbourne, I'm noting how much scoring power you had, it was mid table and you've lost 2 of your top 7 goal kickers from last year. Simple.

Highlighting where you sat on the ladder for points for.

8th, with 2 sides within 10 points across the year, highlighting you could easily have been 10th for points for and you've lost two of your top goal scorers.

All good if you think the forward line is alright.

Established/Proven goal scorers - Waite, Higgins, Thomas

Young forwards who will deliver with Petrie now out - Brown, Wood, Garner

Throw JZ, Anderson thru the forwards and I reckon its in the top half of the comp.
