North Melbourne could be without Shaun Higgins for up to 12 weeks with the forward requiring surgery to repair damage to his meniscus.

The 28-year-old suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s match against St Kilda.

“Shaun will have a procedure today after advice from specialists earlier in the week,” Director of Football Geoff Walsh told NMFC.com.au.

“It’s extremely unfortunate, but our focus is to ensure Shaun will have a thorough rehabilitation, which will allow him to return to the side late in the season.”

The early prognosis puts his potential comeback in the vicinity of Round 20.

It’s been a luckless start to 2016 for Higgins after minor knee surgery interrupted his pre-season campaign.

“He’s a tremendous character and an utter professional, so we know he will bounce back strongly from this setback,” Walsh added.

Same injury as Hodgey, no surprise hodgey will be back in 3-4 and Higgins will miss half a season.

How is the Roos depth? Is there VFL team still split in two, how they travelling?

Yep, the EXACT same injury, they landed the same way, felt the same pain, I've heard they both have the same knee, share the same crutches and see the same specialist.
It's got me totally f#cked how one will be back in a month & the other back in three months.

Ones tough as, the other has a proven track record of being soft as, bout 8 weeks difference worth in mind, hope that answers your question

I assume by not answering the question about your depth you either dont know or you have none.

One VFL team now, not sure of depth but their Ressies are middle of the road in the comp ATM

The most surprising thing with Higgins injury is it has taken 2 1/2 years to happen. Not the most durable player going around, but has been great for the Roos.

Care to show your evidence of this? Injury-prone is vastly different to soft.

I seem to remember him playing out the game with the injury. Must have been concussed in the same incident and forgot he was soft.

A win v Carlton this week (9-0) will be the greatest start in club history.

I thought Norths draw was rated as the hardest...not judging by your first 8 opponents

Sydney to come twice, Hawthorn twice, West Coast in Perth, Adelaide away, Geelong, Bulldogs again, GWS also.

Bring it on, hopefully it'll wake a few of our players up.

would be interesting to see a revised draw difficulty going on the ladder positions so far.

Playing richmond and freo for instance would have been seen as a very tough draw but now not so much.

I seem to remember reading a revised draw difficulty online but i cant find it.

Anyway, North's run does look a lot tougher, but its much easier to negotiate that when you are 8-0!

website published one last week or the week before - think Hawks had the best draw home, North were more difficult from memory

Could miss the 8, that would be horrific.
Lose those 9 games and they will. Also 2 other tricky ones with Port and Richmond, not beyond those 2 if they are up and about at the time

You missed the St.Kilda, Collingwood & Carlton games...
We'll probably lose our last 14.

That would put you about 13th and into the easy draw for next season. Roos for premiers in 2017

Thought this was quite interesting. Kind of confirms what we have been saying that North have probably overachieved so far.

But an awesome platform nonetheless

This is a champion data graph, percentage adjusted for draw difficulty

Makes no sense, only trend I can see is every team in front of us has played GWS and we haven't.
