Don't rate Goldstein, Cunnington, Dumont, Higgins, Ziebell, Jacobs?

I don't actually think they have the worst side on paper.

None of them are A graders, except for maybe Cunnington and that is arguable. Goldy not anymore.

Jacobs is a top notch tagger for sure.

I wouldnt have that midfield over most others in the comp. Carltons and St Kildas are probably worse. Brisbane and Gold coast are up there too.

to make finals? yes. to be competitive, no. as North are proving (though Ben Brown is definitely an A Grader)

What is an A grader?
Is that just determined by fantasy football stats?

Brown & Tarrant are A-graders
Ziebell & Higgins aren’t that far off either.
Jacobs is clearly the best run with player in the comp, does that make him an A-grader?

Out of 396 possible all australian selections in the 2000s, North Melb have had 4 - Harvey 2008, Petrie 2011, Thompson 2013, Goldstein 2015.

All Australian selections are subjective at best and don’t guarantee team success. You should know that, Benny.

yep, ill admit my stats are wrong here. bloody changing their name to the kangaroos messed me up a bit

you can add 7 more to my total

i think my point still stands for recent times though.

You guys keep translating that to hate of North Melbourne though. I dont hate them at all, i just think you guys massively overrate them.

Agree with you on AA selection. Some players are automatic inclusions before the season starts.
The 2000 Essendon team was the most dominant side in the history of the comp and yet could only get 4 players in the AA side

"A Graders" - absolute waft! Sick of hearing how sides need "A Graders" to be successful.

Tell me how many bona fide A Graders have been in the last few premiership sides? Adelaide beat Sydney last Friday, how many A graders in the Crows lineup compared to the Swans?

As long as all 21 are on the same page, playing their role and the game plan is good enough to produce positive results, then surely that's more important than how many are classed in the top echelon of players bracket?

4 each in my eyes, although there are more Swans that would be pushing for selection.

Hannebury, Parker, Kennedy & Franklin.

Gibbs, Sloane, Jacobs & Laird, although McVeigh is getting on.

Rampe, McVeigh, Lloyd and Heeney would be close by.

Staggered at rhe attacks on the North midfield and suggestions of the lack of A graders.

Just rolled the Hawks nicely and will probably beat Port as well this weekend.

Ben Brown has gone to another level this season, goldy is fit again, Waite looks fit at the moment, Cunnington is leading the Roos midfield and at the end of the day you a team full of guys prepared to have a crack.

Waite is a massive North Melbourne barometer, his presence is felt, he's hard, he takes a good defender, he's strong in the air and moves pretty well for a solid bloke.

Probably only Bontempelli, although Johannisen, T Boyd, Picken and Macrae were in A grade form that September.

I think you need some real A graders to continually finish top 4, I think you can get by with some B graders in A grade form, as noted above, for a few weeks. Might be what we're seeing from North at the moment, some quality B graders in A grade form.

Good point "A Grade form". How long do you need to excel at your craft before being acknowledged as an A Grader?

I meant who actually played - Sloane missed.

Then the Crows had the likes of Gallucci, Poholke, Brown, Otten, Milera, Ellis-Yolmen, Doedee - all reasonable players in their own right, but side by side with the Swans line up you would've think they had the same level of quality or class.

Crows had 9 blokes get 20+ disposals - sharing the love.
