That can hardly be considered any less fanciful than the comment highlighted.

As was Gale's call of 3 flags by 2020.

He also said it is very hard to put a time frame on these things, that didn't make the quote.
Gale said it in 2010 so it was a 10 year plan and Richmond had started showing signs of improvement. North don’t look to have bottomed out yet, they will be competing with us for the spoon

From what I’m hearing, things are far more dire at Essendon right now.
I expect North to comfortably have more wins and be nowhere near finishing bottom.[/quote]Oh we will be right in the mix this year for the spoon but i think you guys won’t be far above us. I actually think going forward there seems far more positive vibes at Essendon this year and players are buying in for the first time in years. Guess we will see though

Apparently North are in a much better position than the Crows now and into the future
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep

I do admire your optimism though. Can't knock you for that. Can't say I agree though.

No pressure on them both at the draft table.

We have had 5 Rising Star nominations in the last 2 years, LDU isn't one of them - add in a strong draft hand and I think we are in a better position than the Crows.

I'd have North ahead of the Crows, but it's a pointless/meaningless debate .. Neither should be getting anywhere near the 8 next season.

I actually agree with the assessment from Dutchy here.

As already mentioned LDU looks a ripper. Got some good young players as well.

Change in coach and you might also get the best out of Piled as well.

Also still a bit of experience with Ziebell and Cunnington.

I reckon they are in. Better spot than Adelaide at the moment.

He's the one they need to pull his finger out .. Cunnington you know always delivers and I'd imagine Jack's probably had injury issues along the way, but he's never imposed himself on games for anywhere near long enough (if it all last season). I've probably worded it poorly but basically he's equipped to be a fantastic player but hasn't delivered anywhere near enough imho.

Larky's development will be critical here, will need to use on of our high draft picks here also IMO

Its like arguing if a push bike or a skateboard is quicker when they are in the same race as a V8 and a F1.

I'd have to agree that the Crows are slightly more rooted. But that's mainly on account of Roo's still there.

Norths "war chest" gives them the edge imo
Dave Warner will be missed!

That will be pretty handy. Get another quality mid and it's looking better already to be honest.
