Which is fine but i also don't think it would be unreasonable for the accusers to want an independent investigation.

Now if this was anyone else, any other group of people, they would be told if youre not going to speak we will have no other option but to close the investigation and move on. Not that this helps Clarkson, Fagan or Burt as mud sticks but this is the way it should go. The tip toeing through the tulips because the accusers are indigenous is the problem here. None of this is politically correct so its not an option the AFL will take.
The indigenous lads have been let down by the AFL also here, 8 months and nothing has happened, 8 months and zero leadership by the AFL.
Jordan Lewis was very strong on 360 tonight about how the Hawks have handled this, sounds like they have made some serious errors here.
Frustratingly North cop the fall out from this despite having no role in it at all.

What realistically can the AFL do if the indigenous lads refuse to be interviewed as has been mentioned?

I can understand why some wouldn't since they'd already taken part in Hawthorn's investigation and none of the findings were acted upon nor did it remain confidential.
Let's not assinate the true victims here.
Isn't one of the main holdups because the author of the original report won't take part but that is because he signed a non-disclosure agreement with Hawthorn when writing the review?
Going by Jordan Lewis's reaction last night the main source of everyone's anger atm is the Hawthorn Footy Club.

I didn't even attempt to write what Jeff said. I have no idea where the truth actually lies in all of this. The fact that Clarkson has walked on North now...... what does that imply? We are just mere punters having our 2 cents worth. In some ways I doubt the full truth, either way, will ever be known, nor an acceptable outcome for anyone be achieved. As a previous poster said, the only winners here are the lawyers.

The daily bill for these six is probably north of 25k per day.
Despite being asked by the client (the AFL) to report by December 31, the gravy train is in full motion. Quinn will not finalise this. Ever.
The sum total of investigation according to Quinn is the panel has conducted multiple interviews (I would say this is probably no more than 4 or he would have quantified it ) and received 20 statements. Yep received.
Quinn has requested 37000 documents from Hawthorn which they expect to receive soon.
Any review of 37000 documents will take an eternity. That's why he has done it.
Clarkson, Fagan and Burt will probably die before they are interviewed.
