2016 Coaches - Who is the first to get sacked?

Postby Corona Man » Sun May 22, 2016 10:20 am

Ok fairly straight forward. Which coach is under the most pressure to hold onto their tenure?

For me, it's Eade... Suns need to get a broom out, may as well start with him!

Thoughts?

Buckley and Hardwick have turned it around in recent weeks.
Ross Lyon or Hinkley have to be in the gun now.

On the surface, Ross Lyon has lost the plot, but he got a 5 year deal at the start of the year? Right? Bit hard to flick him now if that's the case. His presentation to the Freo board must have involved a lot of smoke & mirrors!

Lyon is safe as houses.
Freo know they need to tank and get back into the draft.

That's the only explanation I can come up with too Jim... And somehow Lyon sold that to the Freo board.... Genius!

Is Lyon the man to take them into that next phase though?

They will give him time.
Will lose a few senior players to retirement and probably Neale aswell and don't look to have much decent youth coming through. Will take a couple of years of rebuilding to get them back in the mix

I reckon they will be straight back up the pointy end next year, its got the WCE blueprint all over it, tank for a season get the early draft picks, half decent run with injury next year and they're back

Pavlich, Sandilands, Mundy all at the wrong end of their careers, Neale potentially leaving and Fyfe surely has questions marks over his leg injury........... Not sure their climb back up will be that quick.

Agree the WCE had a strong core list with talent coming through and just had a bad year with injury so they pulled the pin. Freo don't look anywhere near it with what's coming through and they need to recruit players who can hit a target and break the lines.

Eade has 16 currently injured of which 14 are in their best side.
Their reserves team in the NEAFL were 4 short last week and had to get some U17's from a local side to fill their side.

I'm at the MCG watching this horrible game. Brisbane are absolutely woeful and it's only Melbourne's ineptness that's stopping it from being a 10 goal margin already
