I dont see a lot of the roos though- Spargo or Dutchy? Worth picking up?

Im staggered by this, he has almost elite legs skills, played 14 games this year, although fell out of favour at years end. Really thought he was the type that will push up next year with more opportunity. Maybe squeezed out as our defence is looking OK.

He was one of our best during the Crows game here mid season.

Reckon he will get picked up pretty quickly.

I'm the opposite, couldn't stand him. His kicking IMO was highly overrated, slow on the ground, got beaten in the air and his decision making was below average.
Joel Tippett delisted also - shocking run with injuries.

I wonder if his appearance in the prison bars this year coincided with any big wins for the Magpies?

Apparently GAJ wanted a trade back to the Cats this offseason, but the Suns shut down the request for trade before negotiations could even begin.

Just heard that on the radio. Means GC would have got stuff all and would have had to pay a portion of his salary for the privilege of seeing him play at the Cats.

Still close to a million a year I'm pretty sure. We offered up pick 1 for him but it was hot on the head very early on

Why would Essendon offer pick 1 to a 33 year old injury prone player?

Same reason we would of handed over pick 1 to a guy who hasn't played footy in 2 years
Only his shoulder giving him issues. Still the best player in the comp when he is fit. The recruiters probably thought If they could get 3-4 years out of him it's worth a punt.

At least O'Meara has a good 10 years left at least if he gets his body right. Essendons peptides might have helped him a fair bit ;)

How stupid that he signed a 3 year deal this year if there was even thoughts of coming back to Geelong

Couldn't have put it better myself. However, with the Dangerfield trade taking place last year he knew he wouldn't have been in a position to get back to Geelong last year and if he'd only wanted a 1 year deal with the Suns what would they have done?

Imagine if they lost him too....youch. Failed experiment indeed.

Question is, can he keep the captaincy or, is there anyone else to give it too?

So how long until the Gold Coast experiment goes the way of the dodo bird and all other attempted sporting ventures on the Gold Coast?

People seem to like the idea of Tom Lynch as skipper for the Suns. But you're right, the cupboard's bare.

They wouldn't have been happy signing him for one year but he is Ablett so they wouldn't risk losing him. If he had done that though the media would have a field day with it and its all we would have heard about all year.

I reckon he'll step down as Captain
