you reckon they would love to have their time back and taken the first rounder + Lyons last year?

Another year older, fair to say Crows offer will be less than last year #organicgrowth

He did have a cracking year though.

Reckon first rounder is still about the right value for him, just remains to be seen whether carlton relent this time

I agree.
Given his age you can't really give up too much to get him IMO.

pick 15-18 in a shallow draft seems about right, especially given the length of his contract - maybe with a few other pick swaps too

No way is he now a 1st rounder. Adelaide don't have a particularly young list, I don't think they be wanting to add a 29 year old to that list.

Say what now?

We are 7th oldest with an average age of 24.0

Take scotty thompson off our list and that age drops to 23.7 which is the 15th oldest

Jenkins, MacKay, Douglas, Betts and Jacobs will be the only 28+ year olds on our list by the start of next year.

We are ranked 15th for experience in terms of average games played, and clearly in a premiership window, so Gibbs is absolutely worth trying to get

Wouldn't do it unless ultra cheap if I was Adelaide. What would it do for the culture of the place is Lever leaves for $$$ and then you sign Gibbs for $$$?

Whatever they're thinking of giving Gibbs, add it to Lever's offer.

Must admit, i thought Sloane, Walker and Otten were older than they are.

Don't clubs exist to win premierships though? Perhaps the Crows would see the addition of Gibbs to the midfield brigade as a key to winning a premiership, and whilst Lever is a jet, maybe they feel it's worthwhile investing in that quality mid instead of backman?

If it's a choice between lever and Gibbs I'm keeping lever for sure.

But he's not getting squeezed out due to cap pressure

Which player would give Adelaide a better chance at long term sustainable finals success, Lever or GIbbs? Heck even right now, Lever >>>> Gibbs IMO.

Never rated Gibbs and dont think he wold be the answer to their midfield depth issues.

Lever is going anyway so its more a case of will Gibbs be better than what else we would get for Lever.

If Lever goes I think he will go to the Western Bulldogs for Dalhaus (allegedly asked to be traded)

Lever has already informed the Dogs that he wont be going there. Its either Melbourne or Collingwood. I would think he will end up at Melbourne. They have 2 young South Australians on their list Stretch and Neal-Bullen so i wouldnt be surprised if they are put on the trade table.
