Terrible article, written like he was still pissed. Good metaphor about a tree growing. Not sure anyone tunes in to watch a tree grow. But good on him for trying to stay relevan

I laughed a bit at the MAFS narrative at the bottom.

I couldn't care less if Warren Tredrea or Patrick Cripps wrote it... It hits the nail on the head for just about every dumb ass complaint people have from their couch about AFLW...

Dare say he's got alot more knowledge about the game than you and i...

Not a great article, but think he made a couple of good points -

1. The point relating to the close margins being more engaging and gripping than the blow outs.
2. The Mr "I could've kicked that" bloke who runs around in local C grade footy but is the Chris Judd of the keyboard warriors.
3. The fact the men are full time, well paid athletes who have trained their whole lives and progressed through countless development programs; and
4. That VFL footage from the early days was a yuck standard.

Do you reckon a player for Freo with last name Gooch will get a cult following!!! Very interesting looking player aswell. Let’s say she isn’t someone who would wear a dress and put on makeup!!!

I was trying to work out what local ground the Crows are playing at didn't know their new home ground is Richmond Oval.

I was there today and never seen Richmond oval in such good nick. One bonus of AFL in the SANFL

Bigger crowd tally than West’s 9 home games too. The takings from catering would have been very good

Watched a fair bit of AFLW over the weekend and really enjoyed it, skills have really improved and they getting the ball into space much more than earlier on.

From what Ive seen -

Possible Premiers - Freo, Melb, North

In the Mix - Collingwood, Saints, Bulldogs, Brisbane, Crows

The other have no chance IMO

Agree with that. They switch the ball a lot better now and hit targets. They're starting to grab the contested marks too.

Only going to get better and better.

Just to give you an idea of the standard of the SANFLW though, my daughter had a couple of teammates from her U16 side play senior footy on the weekend...

Is it true the girls use a smaller footy to the men?
If so, why?
