They had cameras close up on their knees as they played to closely watch the knee when under stress. Ironically & unfortunately they captured the close up on a girl doing her ACL :(

I put that down to the sport rather than the womens physiology. Is there a physical reason (other than the obvious) as to why women are 4 to 8 times more likely to do an ACL?
Any data on men playing Netball? Apparently this is a thing......

As a late teenager / early 20-something I played several seasons of mixed netball, probably played my best footy at that time too, as fit as I'd ever been.

Plus, the opportunity to be face zoned by a bouncing goal keeper or being shadowed or blocked by the back end of an uber fit wing defense or center made for some wonderful Wednesday and Sunday nights.

You can touch the women?

Yep, so long as they have the pill, pun intended.

Years ago played GK in a mixed netball game on a 'lady' who was being a nasty piece of work to male and female alike. Found a solution when some said "get in front of her", to which I replied "I can't get round her". She cried, lost her bottle and that was the end of it.

Interesting approach the AFLW players are taking, calling out the "haters" and telling them where to go. Won't win any new friends doing that.

I don't blame them. Last week with low scoring games the haters were out in force. This week with high scoring games, they are nowhere to be seen.

Hell yeah, two games for the round aggregated over 100 points between the two teams.

double it to reflect a men's game time if you want to compare

They play 15 minutes plus time on, men play 20 plus time on.

They play a lot more than 25% extra as they score a lot more.

I'm not an AFLW hater, I don't really watch it as I don't have the time and I gave up Foxtel, they score less because their disposal is not as crisp, their kicks aren't as long and the games are generally a lot more scrambled.

Trying to compare the both is inconclusive, boys have been aspiring to play at the top level since Jesus was playing under 9's for Jerusalem, the opportunity has only existed for girls for a couple of years, the standard will improve, it's catching on.

I'm not comparing them, just the game time if you are worried about the scoring.

It doesn't affect my time in the house, it is a blight on the game according to those who watch it and have a dig.

It's not the lack of game time that stops them scoring. It's because they're shit.

Not sure how they thought reducing the number of players but staying on the same field size would increase scoring when the players can't kick more than 35-40m tops. At best you've got 5 clean well timed kicks from end to end and only 16 players to use along the way. Counter productive.

I understand the 16 a side concept while the talent pool develops, but reduce the size of the field accordingly.

On the weekend Collingwood had 12 I50's for the match and 1 goal, forget the good games, like the mens the good games are good, the goal is to make the shit games better.

Surely the AFLW score differently to the men's games in terms of ranking points?

Erin Phillips 241 points? WTF

13 Kicks
6 Handballs
3.1
6 Tackles

good game yes, 241 point no way in the world.

So what you're saying is there's an Gender Dream Team Gap?

Women get more points for doing the same job a man does.
