Downed a few chardonnay's?

I'm one of those hill riff raft. So a nip of port or a shandy for me.

Interesting listening to Bomber Thompson on radio tonight he said at the 2007 Draft Geelong were deciding between Selwood and Boak and how hard it was to split them before Port picked up Boak just before the Geelong pick. Boak the Geelong local and Selwood from Ballarat who had knee issues but had hardly missed a game since.

Selwood is a 3 time premiership player and 5 time All Australian.
Boak plays for Port.

Seriously though after 2014 I would have said Boak but now I would lean towards Selwood.

Both great players and captains.

you would definitely say selwood is the better player, no question.

But that doesnt mean port would be unhappy with boak. Bloody hard just to draft a regular player let alone someone as good as boak

I wonder if Boak played for Geelong and Selwood for Port whether Boak would be more highly acclaimed because he plays in Victoria

Dangerfield has a higher profile/acclaim now that he is in Victoria

3 more Thursday games to come too.

I love Thursday night footy, not so much when it's my team at home and I'll be rushed to get home, changed and into town. Reckon it's a winner nonetheless.

Makes Friday mornings tough.

Selwood has played in (arguably) the greatest team of the modern era, Boak spent 3 seasons paddling while we were broken on and off field. Much of Port Adelaide's resurgence in the last 4 years can be put down to the ill fated trip Scott and the Cats boys made to come and talk to Boak and Boakys decision to stay. Boaks signing on, along with the signature of Trengove, signaled that there was a group at Alberton who were there for the jumper, not the cash.

I think Selwood is a better all round player, consistently in Geelong's best 2 or 3. Boak hasn't set the world alight for 18 months.

Maybe it's because Dangerfield won a Brownlow and Selwood is a better player... Is Fyfe not highly acclaimed and does he not have a high profile ?

I've got some very fond memories of Port Adelaide players at SANFL and AFL level, many on field and many off field. I, and every current day Port fan, will be forever in debt to Boak for the stance he took. Could have easily headed home to Geelong, played for Geelong and walked out on us. He didn't and I truly believe he was the catalyst for others deciding to stay too.

While typing that it made me think, would Dangerfield have walked as easily as he did if Tippett, Gunston, Bock etc etc had walked out on Adelaide?

Dangerfield publicly in Victoria went to a new level before he won the Brownlow

I reckon Fyfe hype would be enormous if he played for a Victorian club.

I think he would have Booney as his situation wasn't about money but family life and his partner had him by the balls

I agree, I'm a Selwood fan but it helps being involved in such a successful side, Boak has been a great asset to the PAFC, who knows what he could've been if he played in a better side?

Who ended up getting the better player?

That is the stupidest question I have seen on this forum
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

A few interesting odds this week, good multi builders.

Port 1.20 vs Haw 4.65
Geel 2.10 vs Adel 1.74
GC 2.35 vs WC 1.60
GWS 1.25 vs Ess 4.00
NM 2.10 vs Rich 1.74
Freo 1.83 vs Coll 2.00

All the faves are paying 13.29 in a multi, where will the upset(s) come from?
