What they should have done is give Hawkins a $5000 fine and let players know they'll get hit in the hip for the remainder of this season and next year it'll be a game.

The MRP were very clear about the jumper punch from heading into this week.

Agreed, stupidity on Hawkins' behalf, but I stand by the fact changing the "rule" mid season is rubbish.

You could say twice in 2 years Hawkins has been used as an example for what you can't do, anymore.

Meh, all players draw attention to infringements, pretty certain he was chasing a free kick not a report.

I agree with Booney, too often we see either rules or interpretations changed in-season these days.

The frequency of these cowardly jumper punches were (are) increasing though. It needed to be stamped out, if that requires a MRP adjudication adjustment, so be it.

I reckon "jumper punch" is the shittiest term to come into footy in some time. It's a punch, to the face. It deserves a week.

It's called flying the flag. Maybe your girls should try it. Should have been Oscar for that dive by Crouch though, I thought Tommy had brought his knuckle dusters out there. :D

Just part of the Cat player rotation policy ;) . You can't let blokes beat up your skipper all night. All Sloaney needs is someone to step up and say not on my watch but it won't happen as the corporation hasn't hired an enforcer.
