I'm pretty sure that was over something that occurred at the time, I'm talking about actually starting something to change the way the game is running, how Essendon were all over us, I wanted them to try anything!

Given Westhoff, Polec and Toumpas are scared of the dark I wouldn't suggest those 3 start a fight. ;)

The worst thing the Power could ever do is "flex their muscles". Regarded as probably the softest side in the AFL in that regard.

Common knowledge mate, it's just the way they're regarded. They can play a good brand of footy but whenever the pretend biffo appears they're ripe for picking. I rate the Power this year but if any biffo breaks out they turn to water and they'd be mad to.
They could make the top 4 this year but if they pretend to be tough they'll be lucky to make the 8.

I thought Port were thugs? Can't win!

And if you reckon there is anyone that goes at the contested pill harder than messrs Wines, Ebert and Pepper you're off you're rocker.

So if he does throw one, let's hope it's at Ricky Henderson.

Thins out pretty quickly after those 3........
Broadbent - gets lost a bit and I think is actually unfit, but never takes a backwards step when the ball is there to be won.
Jonas – Self explanatory. Unco, occasionally as stupid as a box of hammers but couldn’t question his attack on the ball or the man.
Sam Gray – Can't kick over a jam tin and has brain farts. Never seen him shirk a contest though.
Hombsch – Loses his feet, gets caught out when the ball goes behind the play but courage in the air is outstanding.
Trengove – Never seen him pull out, regularly competes in the ruck against people, much bigger and holds his own. Dumb though.
Clurey – Young key defender often outsized but holds his own physically.
DBJ – For a bloke his size he’s a tough as nails. Slow and a bit daft but really, couldn’t questions his contested ability.
Dixon – Contested beast. Hes been outstanding this year. Couldn’t question his attack either.

No shortage of “tough” players playing for Port Adelaide. Shortage of smart ones though!

I would question:

Polec – I excuse him because of the role he plays, and most of the time when it’s his turn he does go in
Hartlett – although he exhibits moments of real gutsy stuff
Amon – getting better
Pittard – this year, I think he’s mentally gone to Victoria already
Toumpas – Isn’t in my team for this reason. Bombscare personified.

When you look at every AFL team it would be a similar story. Some really gutsy players. Some in and under types. Some mixed types. Some outside running types.

Might I also point you towards morell’s Myth #8. Lots of ways to exhibit courage on the football field. Gut running when you’re utterly exhausted just to create space for your team mate is one of them.

They beat us because they're smarter and better structured. If anything we win the contested stuff and lose the outside spread against them as they play the +1 to perfection.

Watch more football.

Finally got to see the full replay. We played decent footy at times but Port didn't offer much resistance. Was really happy with the performance of some of our lesser known players,McKenna had his best game for the club and Hartley has held Patton and Dixon goalless in consecutive weeks. Would be nice if we can get some consistency and win a few on end
