I see them all as 'ok' but to be honest I just don't see any of them as hall of famers. Just my opinion

From memory he went in with Gary Ablett Snr as there were jokes about Garry's coke addiction and with that female passing away in his room and Carey's well publicized history.

I think he was eligible for a few years before he went in because of his off field stuff.

I was surprised goodwin was inducted this early, but he has played 275 games, dual premiership player, 5 time all australian, 3 time best and fairest, and then moved straight into coaching.

So his record stands up

No issues with Goody, not convinced on Halbert....great to see Stevo acknowledged, so under rated during his career...next South Aussie has the be Macca surely?

Malcolm Blight. Legend of the game. Quite right too. He was an exciting player to watch and the teams he coached played exciting Football. Congratulations Malcolm.

You what????

244 games - a lot for abck when it was only an 18 games season - 15 years of League football
1 premiership
Club captain
18 state games
All Australian

Coached in the SANFL for over 15 years (seven at league leve)l, Been involved at football Administration since that time on and off and is currently part of the SANFL history committee (i'm glossing over his public footy admin role in the early 90s).

Is arguably the most deserving recipient of HOF status of all the inductees last night.

Barry Hall...WTF.
Even he acknowledged he shouldn't be there in his speech...

New inductees all very good players, but don't seem as illustrious, but that's probably where we're at with most of the games elite already in there.

Is the hall of fame like the American ones where you have to be out of the game for 5 years?

International Rules Representative 2000, 2001
AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year 2007
Adelaide Football Club Life Member 2005
Adelaide Football Club Hall of Fame inductee (2015)
Assistant Coach, Essendon Football Club, 2011 – 2014
Assistant Coach, Melbourne Football Club, 2015 – 2016

Stevens

Wasn't using any definitions per sé just my own recollections and ratings. Goodwin was an excellent player and does have a great record, but I wouldn't consider him a great of the game like a Doull or Greig or even McLeod. Just my opinion though mate, doesn't mean I'm right

I'm not saying you're wrong mate, just curious to know why we don't perceive recent retired players in the same light as longer time retired players.
I guess if they have to keep pumping in 5-6 players per year, the quality eventually diminishes.

I saw Dennis Cometti was there last night, is he in there? Is there rules about the media being retired?
