Blucher on Weller: His girlfriend's family is on the GC, it's where he went to school, it's where all his mates are & he wants to live there

that would be a good result for both parties

Last year two 1st rounders was too much. This year a 1st and 2nd rounder for a bloke who is a year older.

Better deal for Carlton.

well we need someone to be playing next year ... we are running out of players :D

I reckon if Sloane was to leave (Its a possibility). Tex would go on a killing spree. Just imagine if Geelong offered Sloane something like 1.3 million a year. That would be hilarious and I would like to see the look on Tex's face.

Befuddled, just the same as asking Tex to spell.

How dare a player leave their current club to go elsewhere!

Hope Crows supporters are as disgusted with this move as they were with Lever and Cameron! :P

CARLTON is strongly considering out-of-favour Port Adelaide ruckman Matthew Lobbe in what could be an NBA-style salary dump deal.

The Blues are performing a medical examination of the ruckman, who is contracted for a further two years on about $500,000 a season.

Carlton and the Power have been discussing a range of options including the prospect of the Blues taking on the entire contract and receiving a draft pick — 34, 49 or 62 — as well. If the dump deal was struck, it would be groundbreaking in the AFL.

The Blues’ interest in Lobbe is understood to be centred on not only the need for a backup ruckman, but the possibility of actually improving its draft position by taking on his salary.

The parties could also do a pick swap in which Carlton improves its draft position. Port Adelaide had previously indicated a willingness to pay a portion of Lobbe’s contract in a trade.

The Blues are eyeing Lobbe as a backup to Matthew Kreuzer, who has had two largely injury-free years but has a record of fragility.

Lobbe struggled for game-time once it became clear that Paddy Ryder was a dominant ruckman and far better suited to the ruck than a hybrid forward/ruck role.

Both Queensland clubs had entertained the prospect of Lobbe, with the Lions having ruled themselves out this week

pick 39 for Wigg, 54, and 2018 4th rd

thought he was going to be a good player for us. will never know now. not sure what they are planning here unless they needed 39 to go with another deal cause you'd leave Wigg on the list rather than get 39 back in

fair chance wigg wanted out too knowing he likely wouldnt have got a game.

if we end up trading a couple of picks for gibbs then getting 39 back could be ok.

Yep, offered a 2 year deal & was off to the Gold Coast next week no matter what.
Pyke doesn't rate him anyway so good on him, was promised games that never eventuated.

Not sure it’s trolling when it’s what pretty much happens...
