C7 Melbourne saying Port are giving Motlop $600k x 4 which pushed the compo up

Its not Geelongs fault Port are paying overs. Would prefer home finals to pick 19.

As confusing as the compo picks are I think there are other areas the AFL need to sort out. First is the hypocritical MRP. Second is too handcuff the rules committee and let the game evolve naturally rather than manufacture a style.
Australian sports are behind the world in terms of trading set ups etc. Nothing will change for 10yrs.

hmm interesting one. Young is what the Gold Coast are really lacking at the moment in mature player. Whilst Young is of limited ability he gives you what he has.

But to suggest that Aaron Young is a Ablett missing half his body is bit of a stretch.

I saw G Ablett beat the Hawks this season off his own boot, which admittedly wasn't that hard. He can still play, has 3 seasons in him as a dangerous small forward, with some pinch hitting through the midfield.
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

Presuming Gablett is on a reduced salary could potentially play as the best small forward in the game for the next 3 years.

In saying that Geelong are trying to buck the trend of needing high draft picks to win a flag

Agreed, he could do huge damage as an 80% forward / 20% midfielder.

You really would just go one out in the 50 with Tomahawk lurking around just outside.

I reckon a few on here may be surprised by these comments by Geelong in regard to the compo pick for Motlop. “It is justified”

We got one or two who want out. Surely a draft pick or something. Just something. Gee even get Watts.

And if we can maybe find something for Tippett it wouldn’t be so bad.

Had a ‘discussion’ with a swans supporter on a Facebook group because he reckons we should trade either, Hannebery, Parker or Kennedy to get a outside midfielder
