So Lever said to BT on ch7 he's signed a 4yr deal with Melbourne.
Surely if true this is in breach of draft rules?

Read tonight that crows want 2 first round picks... is that true? Because No way is lever worth 2 first round picks.

He’s not worth that in the Crow’s thinking. They low ball him on a contract then come out and want 2 first round picks for him.

There is so many ways to look at it - crows offer a lower contract meaning if we were chasing him he is only worth 1st and 2nd at best. Melbourne offer a huge contract normally worthy of a 2 first round type player so we ask for 2 first round picks.

Lever has said he will go into the draft if we dont trade him to Melbourne. It will get done for a first and second i feel and then we will be considered weak by all (including our own). I am glad we didnt pay him that coin - he is not worthy of being any clubs highest paid player and its this that will ruin a clubs culture.

Would have to have been a slip of the tongue, to be honest he doesnt strike me as the smartest bloke going round. It sh!ts me, he is not a FA but still chooses where he gets to go and we are asked to match an offer to keep him. I get he wants to go back to Victoria but we should be able to discuss trades with all the teams not forced to deal only with one because of over inflated wages.

I'll be preparing a "How to recruit free agents - A pocket guide to getting players into your club" for Brad Scott and the boys at Arden St over the coming days, anything that you blokes think I should add in there?
