Hawthorn :

WC, PA, Ade, GC, GWS, WB, Bris, Carl, Fre, Ess, Gee, St, Syd.

Tough next 3 for Hawthorn but opens up for them after that. Very winnable next 9.

that run of 7 after their next 3 looks tasty.

If they can jag one or more of the games against WC, PA and Adl it would set them up nicely.

They did just lose to Brisbane though

The Hawks will be another inconsistent team this year. Anywhere from 5 to 11 is possible for them. They dished up some fair crap yesterday. I’d hope for a response to that. Not sure if I will make it to the game this week, but the Essendon & Geelong games are a lock. Got medallion club tickets for the St Kilda game at Etihad.

Roos have a pretty good draw from here, only play 3 teams currently above them on the ladder for the rest of the year, play Brisbane and Bullies twice, got the Suns again, Essendon and Saints. Amazingly us playing finals is well and truly in our own hands, hope we can keep it rolling

DAYNE Beams has stepped aside as Brisbane captain, indefinitely.

Beams lost his father Philip to cancer in March and has been struggling since.

He has played eight of Brisbane's nine games to date, missing round three against Port Adelaide with illness.

Beams took over the captaincy prior to the 2017 season and has been lauded by the Lions' coaching staff and players for his ability to galvanise the young group.

He told the players of his decision on Tuesday.

Dayne Zorko will fill in as skipper, starting with Saturday's match against Sydney at the Gabba.

The Brisbane Lions have signed Tom Fullarton from the NBL's Brisbane Bullets.

The Brisbane Lions have snared one of Australia’s leading junior basketballers with Tom Fullarton signing a two-year rookie deal with the club.

Fullarton has captained Australia at under-17 level and was promoted from development player to the full roster by Brisbane Bullets and Australian Boomers coach Andrej Lemanis earlier in the NBL off-season before he decided on the move.

The 200-centimetre swingman was seen as a future Boomer with his basketball smarts and versatility and in limited minutes he didn’t look out of place in the NBL.

But the 19-year-old recently stopped playing at state league level in Queensland amid rumours the Lions had convinced him to return to Australian rules football where he was an All-Australian schoolboy player at under-15 level.

The Bullets announced they had released Fullarton from a three-season deal (two years plus an option) so he could chase “AFL opportunities” and the Lions confirmed the signing on Wednesday afternoon. Fullarton will join the club on June 1.

Was no surprise Etihad pulled their sponsorship as they have made some significant losses in the last couple of years and have already made cutbacks on their aircraft fleet and have also made plenty of recent cost cutting measures whic has upset a lot of flyers
