People mulled over the permutations and argued about it's connotations.

You can mock it all you like, but the logic is irrefutable:

Teams with a balance of attack and defence are the teams that win flags in the modern era.

I cannot mock it as I have no words.

Of course it was supported and analyzed, I'd imagine it was posted where analyzers gather to analyze. The rest of the world just missed it while out with friends.

I don't need to have someone plot out the bleeding obvious, you can't win without a balance defence and attack.

Friends are overrated.

You're right, you can't win without that balance. Should Port go on to win the flag without making any balance adjustments, it would be statistically unprecedented. There you go, that is probably a simpler way to say it.

On another note.

Please bring Johnson back in. Plays taller than Neade. Is an awkward size and provides the same amount of pressure.

In: Marshall, Johnson
Out: Neade, Clurey

Well that's a slight exaggeration, you said yourself that Sydney & Richmond "bucked the statistical trend" ;)

Do you remember there used to be that plot graph for premiership window based on average for/against of the past xx premiers? I'd rather see that graph than the one you posted.

Nah, Port are not as strong defensively as either of those two. Statistically.

That's pretty much it! The cups represent that...

Making Jonas play tall? In a word, no. Jonas plays his best when he's the third man. Clurey the body player, Howard on the tall, Jonas the link between the two.

Neade for Johnson I'm ok with,

Trengove's SANFL form needs to be rewarded soon, not as a Neade replacement, but for his continuity of good form.

Do the Bulldogs have a third tall? I must admit I'm not across how they're structured up these days.

Agree re Trengove but there isn't anyone that can drop out unfortunately... Unless we want to give Boak a break

Irrelevant, Jonas can play tall and small and needs to be the third man in the contests.

No room for him right now IMO and I don't think he's ready yet either. Missed a fair block of training and playing, played one SANFL game, missed one and then back on the weekend against Centrals.
