We have heard :

Exit interview with Hinkley was direct, seems as though Wingard may not have taken it so well.

Wingard's manager shops his services around, asking for 5 year $5m deals. No buyers.

Port have him contracted for 2019 so a trade must be facilitated for him to move this year.

As a FA he could leave at the end of next year, but won't get the money he's been seeking.

Port may trade him this year, get a 1st round pick ( at least ) for him and he goes somewhere for similar money to what he would get at Port in his next deal.

So, has Wingard just thrown the sads?

Hinkley - Pull your socks up.

Wingard - I want $5m over 5 years.

The **** is going on?

Wingard will enjoy playing for a coach that has some sort of forward structure.
Dave Warner will be missed!

And a club with a successful culture and a club that knows how to get it done. Not just talk about it.

Clarko will be the best thing for him IMHO toughen Chad up a bit.

Because if Chad didn’t like “feedback” from Kenny good luck with Clarko

Agree with you there. Clarkson will get the best out of him. He has a track record of it.

Isn’t Burton a HBF? Why would Port move on Pittard & possibly Hombsch, and boast they have surplus of HBF/Defenders then bring in Burton, and let go a MID/FWD?

Doesn’t seem like apples for apples to me?

Burton is one of the modern players who could play anywhere. He's been played in defence at Hawthorn but is an elite kick, he's someone I'd jump at having on our list but at the right price.

******* wish we knew about all this before we wasted 3 years on Watts playing around the Adelaide suburbs for $300k a year.

Could Burton replace Polec on the wing then?

Below is from someone on BigFooty that is definitely in the know & is 99% correct with his info. I know it is BigFooty so a lot gets exaggerated, but the bits & pieces I read on there, this bloke & 1 other on the Port board I know get there info from the club & I trust them..

Ok so here's the 4-1-1. I've had a number of PMs pleading for reasoning. So here goes.
He's the laziest player on the list bar none. He ****s around at training, is always the last to arrive and the first to leave. Never does extra sessions.

He fails to respond to contact from the high performance teams about his appalling body composition. In fact as we speak he is the only player not to check in with their composition this off-season despite repeated attempts at contact.

He locks himself away on Fortnite for away games, bringing his gaming gear with him and sits in his hotel room often alone.

The club have tried desperately to get him to lift his game and he has refused to respond.

He has no interest in achieving premiership success and he has no drive to succeed. A player in it for the lifestyle.

The club have lost patience, they don't want him. This was happening since day 1 of pre-season. His attitude absolutely stinks and his petulance on social media has driven a final wedge.

We've tried everything to accommodate him, and he's given us nothing.

The club understand he will likely succeed at another club but the factors for this will be things the PAFC cannot control.

The players themselves have run out of patience with him, he genuinely doesn't get on with Chad Cornes - reason being Chad has demanded more from him and driven him with the whip and Wingard can't take it.

The official reasoning - "We are here to win premierships, and Chad does not share that desire."

I am fully on the club's side here. It hurts, it burns. It aches. However you all agree you want a club with a spine, you've got one.

Chad Wingard has become damaging to the playing group.

I was also sent that last night from a Port mate. Who knows how accurate it is, but if it's mostly true then for the sake of the playing group they need to move him on.

In saying that it should also reduce his cost for Hawthorn as well.

If such a cancer to the playing group why did port want to keep him on ???

Or are port trying to claim they got rid of him now ???

Sounds like a bit of both really. I think they are looking at rejuvenating the list and guys "wanting" to move make it a little easier.

That being said if the playing group is sick of his laziness the what do you do?
Surely a few of his team mates could have a word to him and get him back on track.

Sounds like he has nominated a club, and this is just another variation of "He isn't any good anyway".

Do you think Gavin Wanganeen was the first to training each day?
If you have ability and can play surely that’s the number 1 priority for the club?

Players like Wingard are rare.
