A couple of snippets from Voss on AA tonight -

Said Port's effort was "Fantastic" on Saturday

Lindsay Thomas will come in to cover the void of Dixon [ cc Booney ]

With ports disposal eff going forward it will probably help having thomas up there as he's closer to the ground ;)

Dixon no loss up forward. How often has he kicked more than 1 goal in a match this season. The injury is a godsend in that they can play a more balance game now.

Well this year 26 goals in 20 matches. Jarrod Waite at Nth has done that in 11 matches this season. You must have him on some pedestal to think that's adequate for your clubs major goal scoring option. Dixon has 180 marks this year but as a key forward well behind Robbie Gray on 221.

Dixon has been below average this year. I went to freezing Ballarat to watch them play and sat 5 meters from him behind the goals and he was amazing and marked everything in sideways rain, hail and 40 knot winds and left that game thinking he’s back. Fast forward to last Saturday and below average Dixon was back, running under the ball, dropping marks he should take. He is a mark and goal forward and apart from Ballarat I haven’t seen that this year. And yes I was there Saturday with the other 32k supporters doing my best to get them over the line.

Poor crowd Saturday and I understand about weather, time slot, local footy etc but I received a email from Trav Boak Friday thanking me for being a member and that they broke a membership record of nearly 62k. At the game Saturday they played the message on the big screen and I couldn’t help but think where is everyone. 62k members and 32k at the game. Disappointing. Time for some clarity on these membership numbers.

Waite doesn't spend time in the ruck.

Certainly down on last years performance, no doubt about that, seemed to enjoy rucking while Ryder was out and works well in tandem with Marshall while the whole forward line is still trying to gel with Watts and Boak now in there full time.

Membership numbers never reflect crowd numbers for any club mate, for instance there wasn't 180,000 at Richmond v Collingwood the other week.

Here's a look at average crowd numbers when sides play teams from interstate at home :

Rounds 1-21

Average - Team - Games

52506 West Coast 9

45308 Adelaide 9
43641 Richmond 4
40174 Fremantle 9

38078 Collingwood 4
37248 Melbourne 2
37229 Port Adelaide 9
36933 Essendon 4
33242 Sydney 9

29185 Hawthorn 3
28144 Geelong 3
24123 Carlton 5
21395 St Kilda 4

19943 North Melbourne 4
18890 Brisbane 7
17015 Bulldogs 5
11629 Gold Coast 8
11108 GWS 7

Good work as always Boon, maybe my problem is the inflated membership numbers. Can you find the actual 11 game members only list of all clubs anywhere champ?

Never really gets published mate, all clubs play ducks and drakes with membership numbers and even the AFL don't give anything that could be considered accurate once they do their audit.

My theory, just run with the numbers the clubs say they have, the big ones have more, the shit ones have less, simple.

It was surprising in such a pivotal game they only got 32k at home when they can draw 40k+ in the past at AO.

Western Bulldogs won the flag 2 years ago with a low membership number, surely they weren’t a “shit” club?
What if GWS win it this year with their no’s, are they still a “shit” club?

I would have had 35k as a pass mark, Eagles fans will be saving their money for two home finals tickets and perhaps a trip to the MCG so I wasn't surprised by a smaller than normal Eagles contingent there.

I know a few of the blokes tied up in the ammo's on here dislike the twilight time slot and given half of the clubs finished their season last Saturday it's not surprising some of them would have stayed away.

I love the twilight time slot, couple at the pub before the game, get on the train into the village, still home by 8 if you've got something on. Like drinking heavily to numb the pain of the previous 3 hours, or anything else you may want to do.

I was surprised in the roar when Gov kicked the winning goal, indicated there was a fair spread of WCE fans there
