totally agree with this. After we lost to GWS I worked out our avg for and against for this year and last year. We're scoring 4 less goals a game this year and conceding 3 more points. We need a Plan B that can restrict opposition teams scoring while we're not scoring as many goals as last year.

Where to then for Seedsman and Mackay?

Seedsman was being spoken of a month ago as being in career best form, Mackay just seems to get picked every week so not sure what's happening there.

Laird, Lynch, Brown all back after the bye and reports Sloane is too, surely Sloane plays at least on in the SANFL?
PAFC. Forever.

Seeds has been great, but his impact is different IMO to that of Smith. The field position has the footy is different, if that makes sense.

Both for me play the wing rather than HB.

The fluency of smith/laird out of D50 to Lynch and walker up to the next line of Betts, Jenkins etc isnt there and we havent worked out a way of getting good inside 50 footy. Its been rushed and or we are out numbered.

Frustrating, but that's footy!

Well then you've got real problems because Jacobs, Gibbs, M.Crouch, Douglas and Greenwood should give you something to work with.

35 I50's, would have to be close to a club record low?

Just put the team board from the last game against the wall and throw some darts. The three it hits are the three that are out. Not many deserve their spots

I think it's clear this year is all but shot now and we look towards 2019. I would like to see us rest up a few of the senior blokes and just start blooding kids and hopefully lose as many games as possible in the process.

The problem with our club is we've always been too conservative and not willing to bottom out so when all of the guys out are ready to come back I suspect we'll just keep going to try and scrape into the finals and if we do sneak in it will be lauded as some sort of great achievement despite the horror run we had with injuries this year.

Seriously? Someone mentioned the Big Footy stuff so I read a fair bit of that and one guy who was posting a fair bit said we're currently 10th on the ladder plus big percentage out of the eight, effectively making us three games out of the eight with nine games to go. I don't think I've seen a ladder all season so just took that as gospel.

They've also won 29-48 quarters - that's more than Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide, Collingwood and GWS who all sit above them.

Panic stations at Crowland over stuff all.

Plus we have a bye this week & all the teams above us have relatively easy winnable games.

Plus a pretty tough run home. Will only be making up the numbers if they are lucky enough to get in anyway.

The difference being we were playing pretty good footy earlier in the season now we look like garbage. I didn't see the Freo game but assumed after the humiliation of that loss we would stand up and be counted against Hawthorn but that was one of the more listless and gutless performances I've ever seen from the club. I was actually shocked at what I was seeing. That's not the performance/response of a premiership contender probably not even a legit Finals contender. That was a white flag.

Agreed the run home is tough enough anyway. I know it's all about hope there's always next week etc but I think it's pretty clear we're done this year.

To be honest I think at the moment there are only 3 maybe 4 teams who can win it this year. There are 14 clubs making up the numbers.
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

Surely that is a banning offence.

I mean reading and posting based on what's written on Big footy, makes what morell did look insignificant, really....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
