No watts?

I think everyone would agree that Port are a better side on paper this year than last. But most teams in the top eight except West Coast would say the same when you also account for natural progression of players, and the fact that Sydney (best team in second half of the year) and Essendon (also recruited heavily) were just below Port too means its hard to definitely say that they will rise up the ladder just because of these recruits.

And we all know how those missing puzzle pieces have gone in the past :D

Missing puzzle pieces? You lose any credibility you may or may not have had when you use headlines from the Advertiser.

Port entered the F50 the third most in 2017, players who we felt would increase our ability to use that we have were targeted. We had the 2nd best attack in the league. We've got a very young back line, it was the 2nd best for points against last year behind Sydney.

Natural progression of Powell-Pepper, Marshall, Wines, Wingard, Byrne-Jones, Howard, Clurey should hold us in good stead, too.

Watts - I'm not sure he and Westhoff both play in the same side, I've got him in there to start with but I think balance might see one or the other miss out, this will also depend on playing Marshall forward as well. I don't see Dixon, Marshall, Westhoff and Watts all playing forward of centre with the focus in the modern game on defensive pressure inside your F50.

screen capture the spreadsheet and post it as a picture seems to work better.

Which teams are we least confident on? Ie calculate their standard deviation

I would guess Port, Melbourne and GWS

Interesting lack of confidence in Port on here, compared to most of the scribes anyway. Interesting, but not surprising.

Only from the 3 smart ones

Clearly the three posters on here that don’t have Port in the top 8 are the smart ones ;)

Geelong have gained Ablett into a side that lost a prelim. With their home ground advantage (in the minor rd at least...) They're not missing the eight.

Sure, they got Ablett but they lost Motlop. 8)
